Sparkling Andalusite

For those of you who don't know what andalusite is.. its a beautiful dichroic gem (meaning it shows more than one color). In indoor light it is an olive colored gem but in sunlight it is a light brown with flashes of rusty red, purple and olive green. I love it so much I had a ring custom made with one set in.

Anyway, the gem was my inspiration today and I'm so happy with this look I took several pictures (so scuse the camera whoring, lol). Its also one of the few times I've branched out to more than two colors on my lid. Wheeeeee!!

Face: Olay Complete, Meow Cosmetics Inquisitive Angora undereye concealer, Frisky Korat and Naughty Angora Foudations (mixed) of of Meow's firefly blushes but I don't have it handy for the name, Meow Crystalline Cat Glow Powder

Eyes: MAC Ruebanesque paintpot on entire lid and blended to brow, MAC Mosscape paintpot on lid , MAC Goldstroke pigment on outer 1/2 of lid and blended into crease and on lower lashline, MAC Firespot e/s packed onto outer corners of lids, MAC Rich Ground fluidline, Rimmel Lycra LashExtender mascara in black

Lips: Rimmel Vinyl Lipgloss in Mmmmm.

Here's the piccies:

The inspiration!

Ok, I wasn't able to take the picture earlier but now that the kiddo has gone to bed I can play with the camera a bit. Do you know how hard it is to take a picture of your right hand when you are right handed, and the camera's shutter switch is on the right side. Aaargh!

The design is two art deco inspired lillies surrounding the stone. I had this ring made for myself as a graduation present from nursing school in lieu of a traditional class ring. Pictures don't do the stone justice but you get the gist.
