Stick Straight Hair.

Okay, so I'm Asian and I have straight hair. But the bottom always gets kinks and rumples in it. Even when I flatiron it, it doesn't stay perfectly straight. Even if I blowdry it straight, it doesn't stay. Do I need a hairspray? Or a really good flatiron? I'm desperate lol. I hate how mess the bottom part of my hair gets.

I'm just wondering how girls keep their hair perfectly stick straight! Because I see it all the time!

I'd get a nice flat iron. I have really curly hair but I use a straightening iron everyday and that usually keeps my ends pin straight. You can also get a hair straightening serum. Also, do you have any split ends? If you slightly trimmed them it'll be easier to keep them straight.

that happens to me too. i suggest hairspraying the ends. that will definitely help them not kink up, or not as fast at least.

I don't have any split ends.

I guess I need to stop being a cheap-o and get a nice flat-iron then. And possibly a straigtening serum for my ends? They just get so rumpled and sloppy looking! Is there any serum you can recommend?

What hairspray do you use? If you use one that is.

Yes! (sorry got excited about it haha). I loveee Paul Mitchell's super skinny serum. I got it at supercuts (I'm guessing you can get it at almost any salon) for about $16.95 I'm not sure though. It says $16.95 on the price sticker but I remember paying less. All in all I think it's worth it.

Oooh, thanks for the recommendation. I'll definitely look into it.

i use the so sexy by victoria's secret. almost out though. i asked my hairstylist which hairspray i should get next and she said she really likes bedhead masterpiece. i'm thinking of getting that one next. also, about what the person said about the super skinny serum, i think that would help too! another hairstylist i had in the past used that in my hair and it made the ends stay straight and it smells good too!

it only comes with a tiny amount but all you need is half and pump and that should do if your hair is medium-fine like mine.

I agree with Paul Mitchell Super Skinny (I use it & on clients). But if you want something that's designed for fussy (curly/waved) hair with a flat iron, I recommend KMS Flatout it straightens extremely curly hair & provides thermal protection.

I use it on clients that have this problem and it works really well & they always ask what I use & they buy it if they already don't have it.

But try Paul Mitchell Super Skinny & KMS Flatout and see what works for you best!

I personally LOVE them both!

Your hair grows out of your scalp stick straight, but all of a sudden at the ends they have kinks and bends to them?

Perhaps your hair is not *stick* straight. Perhaps it's just moderately straight. I have an Asian friend who wears her hair quite long, and it's straight through the body of the mane, but has a gentle curl or "bump" at the bottom end. This is perfectly natural, and it's just the way the cuticles are aligned, not "stick" straight, but the ends reveal that it only appears to grow "stick" straight under the weight of heavy hair, but when exposed towards the end, it has a slight curl.

This can be flattened out nicely by doing a head wrap before going to bed at night. Then you don't need the serums and heat, those will degrade the quality of your hair over time, and then it won't look as nice as the rest of your virgin hair.

Maybe it was a bad choice of words? When I was younger I had pin straight hair without doing anything to it. I guess now that I'm older, it won't do that anymore, especially at the ends. Where my hair hits my shoulder, it likes to rumple up, bend, but there's no kinds I guess, and it just looks sloppy, so it bothers me! So yes, I have straight hair, but the ends don't like to stay tidy.

Thank you for the suggestion though, I will definitely look into that. I do have healthy hair after all.

I would get a Chi Iron..I have stick straight hair but my friends who don't use this and their hair stays straight for a couple days in a row. I have one too and it makes your hair soo soft afterwards. They're usually on sale at Ulta for 110.. they have a lifetime warranty and are def. worth the cash! Also, Redken has a straightening balm that is really really nice and Frederic Fekkai also has one that's supposed to be even better.

Thanks for the recs. I was looking into getting a Chi after researching a bit.

And if the Paul Mitchell doesn't work out, I'll look into Redken and the Fekkai one.

I have a Chi flat iron now for over 4 years & I love it. My hair stays pin straight.

What I do is, section my hair & use a brush w/ the flat iron.

I also only use good products on my hair. I hardly ever use hairspray.

Start out with a straightening shampoo and conditioner, serum then blowdry (possibly a little more serum after this) then flatiron. Try to keep the flatiron moving when you do it. Hairspray is the last thing you should do.
I watch my friend do it all the time. She can go several days without having to redo it. She also gets her hair trimmed every 3 weeks or so to keep the ends healthy.

Before my beloved Chi, I used a $50 flat iron which is not exactly cheapo but it is NO Chi. I immediately saw a difference once I tried the Chi on my hair. My hair is oily and flat on the roots but the ends are scraggly and stubborn. I also use Paul Mitchell Skinny Serum, these 2 tools help a LOT!
