Storing brushes standing up but tilted?

I used to store all my brushes in a pencil case, but I realised it caused some of the hairs to splay! So I decided to store all of my brushes standing up in a container, like how you store your stationary, so the brushes are tilted to one side because there are no designated holes/slots. Will it cause any splaying of hairs or will it be fine?

They should be fine, that's how mine are stored and they haven't splayed.

They'll be fine. I use cheap plastic cups you get on sale at Walmart after a season has finished.

Isn't that how they store them in the shops anyway, standing up in beakers? I think it should be fine!
