strong nails?

okay, so here's the thing..i've decided to keep my extremely physical job for some reason (i don't honestly know why) but the work is hell on my nails. i break at least two nails a week, i've cracked the entire nail in half before...and i hate it. i can't stand having ugly nails. i've gone back to wearing black polish to cover up some of the damage (when they'r healthy and pretty, i just wear clear polish.)

but basically, i just want them to be strong and difficult to break because i'm a puss when it comes to broken nails, those mothers HURT! i've started taking biotin again, 3x a day when i remember. is there anything else i can do to help build strong, long, healthy nails?

Keep them short, just little slivers of white showing, to limit the breakage, and keep a strengthening base coat on them at all times. It might be kind of a bummer to keep them short but if it's part of your job it's probably better than suffering through constant breakage! If you can wear gloves at your job that might help too!

creative nail Solar Oil is great! its an awesome treatment, and it really works, imo. I apply it whenever my cuticles feel dry. It's kinda messy tho, so I would wait til you're not particularly busy to use it, or you can apply it just before bed.
In addition to that, I totally would recommend Nailtiques Formula 2. These two products saved my nails!
well, when I use them anyway. I'm going through a lazy spell which = broken splitting ridgy nails. ew!

I agree with Dreamgirl3. I`m using Solar Oil too and i love it. Then I´m making a treatment with Microcell 2000 at the moment and it works.

I'd suggest getting a glass file to shape your nails. It really helps seal the edges to help prevent splitting or breaking. You can find cheap ones on www.aboutglassnailfiles.com They're reliable and ship fast.

Also, keeping your nails short, using a nail strengthener like Nail Tek or Nailtiques and moisturizing your cuticles will help tremendously.

You genetics will play the biggest factor though. If your nails are genetically weak, you can do as much as possible to prevent breakage but there's no sure fire cure.
