Studio Fix...sigh

I love the idea of Studio Fix but when i used it earlier this year it went orange on me and using other shades meant i was using the wrong shade. So i went back to Studio Tech.
Now i'm still craving the convenience of powder foundation so i tried Studio Fix again today on a whim, don't know why as i've hated it since it went so badly wrong on me. But i tried it today, the same shade, C40, and..wow, it looked perfect...just perfect. It has so much yellow in it which is great for my light brown/goldeny skin with yellow undertones and now after a whole day of wearing it it's still perfect in skin tone. I've applied Blot Powder to control oilyness since then which has toned down the colour of C40 slightly but it still looks extremely good.

I'm over the moon if this means i can use it but..what's going on? Why isn't it going orange on me now? I'm using a different moisturiser now, a mattyfying one but i still get shiny, and was shiny when i applied Studio Fix and the going orange thing is supposedly caused by the pH of the skin which i'm guessing isn't something that can be completely changed by using a different moisturiser? And also people had suggested primers to me before to make it work but i'd been told at the end of the day it's always going to react with your actual skin and will have the same effect again...so i'm curious as to why it worked so well today!

I'm going to test it out lots of times and see what happens as it could have just been a fluke today..but if it's not then i am SOOO happy, it'll make my life so much easier!

Nope, i would never tan being NC43 and liking my skin tone the way it is, if anything my skin may be abit lighter.

The orange shade is a result of the foundation reacting to the oils in your skin. Has the condition of your skin changed since the last time you tried it?
I had issues with some foundations when I was younger and had oilier skin that was more prone to breakouts. No problems in the last few years.

Well like i said since then i've started using a mattyfying moisturiser (Enzymion by Lush) but as i mentioned in my 1st post could that really change the pH of my skin and my face still gets shiny with it on and was shiny before i applied Studio Fix yesterday.

I just bought it today! And i'm wearing it again today and it's also been fine today!!

...i really hope it doesn't go wrong for me again. It was a pain when it happened last time (though i guess it's just a question of returning it if it goes wrong this time rather than trying out lots of other shades to try to make it work like the 1st time round) and the SAs keep insisting it doesn't go orange when it happens to loads of people and so returning it will probably be ok but they won't understand the reason.

Aaargh i got C40 shade and although it is not changing colour/going orange like it used to, it's just a tiny bit too dark and now i don't even know if i'm a C shade person or an NC shade person so don't even know if i should test the next one down in C shades or NC shades and i need a whole day of wearing and letting it settle and looking in natural light to judge each shade so this is very stressfull!! Aaaargh may just get angry and go back to Studio Tech..except i really want to use Studio Fix...aargh i think it's just not meant to be for me

C shades are for yellower skin tones...NC is for less yellow

(this is the best way I know to explain it to u lol sorry)

I had the choice between NC & C and I chose C because it was just a TAD more yellow---if u look at my avatar you can see my coloring.

She's not talking about Fix +, shes talking about Studio Fix Powder Foundation. Fix + only comes in the regular one and the Rose one that came out with Rose Romance.

I am wondering if the C40 is not working for you if maybe the you could try the c's with only a single digit behind them. like C4. If I remember correcting the c's with only a single digit are more for olive skins tones and the c's with two digits behind are more for yellow skin tones. Just another option you could try instead of going to the nc's.

flip that and you got it right

. c's with single digits are more yellow while the double digit c's are more olive (like c 40 looks almost green on some people).
