Studio Tech and #190 brush - am I too stupid or is there a special technique!

So when a lovely MA at "my" counter introduced me to Studio Tech she applied it with a #190 brush and it went on like a charm!
So now that I got my #190SE with the Olive Holiday Set I gave it a try and I was nothing compared to the way she applied it!

So is there a special trick to apply it smoothly or is it just a result of my hair color?

I don't use it for Studio Tech, but for any liquid or cream product face application. I swipe the brush across my product, and put a stripe on the desired application area (I do forehead, nose, chin and then cheeks in that order). After the "stripes" are laid, I use a painting motion to cover everything and finish with a swirling motion to blend away any roughness.
HTH.

I can't imagine why you can't get it to work, i use Studio Tech with foundation brush and it works great. The secret is blend blend blend and make sure you blend the Studio Tech ONTO the brush before applying. I also find the Primer and/or fix+ work really well with making it all blend like a dream.

maybe trying buffing it out after by using 187? i noticed that it would streak when i used the 190 w/ studio tech.. so i just go back and even things out with the 187 using circular motions.. hth!

I second the 187 for Studio Tech. Someone here posted a tutorial of Pamela Anderson that was from a chat with a MAC Artist. They recommended using the 187 with that foundation. It works like a charm.

My secret is work fast so it doesnt dry on your brush! Alos, be sure to wash your brush nightly to keep it nice and clean.

My technique is a little different from the others, so I'll add it here. I apply the studio tech to the brush first, of course. Next I just sort of spackle it on my face, just light taps with the brush, so that there are random dots of foundation on all parts of the face. I do a little heavier under the eyes and on the cheekbones, as that is where I need the most coverage. Then I blend it out with the 190 with a back and forth motion until there are no streaks or "obvious" foundation. It works for me.
I hope I have explained it in a way that makes sense. I also second the post about cleaning the brush every day. It just doesn't apply as well if there is old product on the brush.
