Sun Screen Help

As the summer is approaching and I have very sensitive skin (usually wear factor 50 sun tan lotion) I need to find a good sun tan lotion that I can wear under my makeup. I've done a search and it brought up some posts about how sun screens with titanium dioxide and zinc oxide don't need to be reapplied to be effective. However, I've had problems finding one that I can get in the UK. Any suggestions would be much appreciated!

i am not sure if you are a member of makeupalley or not but i found the absolute bestest sunscreen ever. its called sofina perfect lucent and it has a spf of 50. also, it does not leave your face feeling greasy or oily as a lot of sunscreens do. i just moisturize my face first, and then apply this sunscreen and as a result, i no longer have to use a face primer!!! check it out:http://www.makeupalley.com/product/s...fina/Sunscreen

I wear Liquid Layer by Elemis. it's SPF 30 but I am super pale and I find it to be enough for me. Not cheap but It's really nice stuff to put on and it wears fine under make up.

Totally second the Sofina sunscreen - I use Sofina Perfect UV and have done for a couple of years. It is perfect - matte finish, silky feel, no greasiness or break outs. It is the only skincare item I have ever repurchased. I am also in the UK, so I buy it on ebay. Actually I bought one today as mine is running out - I buy mine from a seller called stephanie_kwong and she has always been very reliable.

Hey wings, I agree that using a physical sunscreen [contains only barriers like Titanium and zinc] is the most stable form of sun protection least likely to cause long term harm. I also agree that finding a good sunscreen is very, very difficult because there are so many factors to take into consideration. After 18 months, I finally found my HG sunscreen by NIA 24. This is purely mineral, also contains 5% pro-Niacin [great for skin barrier repair] and also has silicones; which doubles as a makeup primer, dries fairly matte and the white cast eventually fades away. The texture is nice and smooth and best of all, doesn't clog my pores. For drier skin, you'll want to apply moisturizer underneath.

Once I tried samples from the manufacturer - www.niadyne.com then I found an ebay seller to purchase. Drop them an email, request samples before you buy.

Good luck,

Athena
