Tan =\

Heres the problem.
I stayed outside for 9 hours in the sun, I had factor 30 on my face I think.
I wore my hair down so it covered my neck.

So as a result my face has tanned and my neck is pale. My face is darker than my neck. It's noticeably different, but not a massive difference.

Do I buy a new foundation and have my face a different colour to my neck or do I stick with the one I've got so that my neck and face face are the same colour?

What I do is use bronzer on my face if that happens-that should work because it's more natural than foundation I believe. Just get a good powder bronzer and blend the face into the neck! Hope that this helps!

DO NOT use a darker foundation on your neck (no one should apply foundation to their neck unless they are on tv), and DO NOT use a lighter color on your face so that it matches your lighter neck. use a color that matches your face, and apply bronzer to your neck to make it darker. just be aware that your bronzer may rub off some onto your clothing.

i've heard alot of people on different threads talk about how surprised they were that they tanned when they were wearing sunscreen. no matter what the spf is of sunscreen, it doesn't prevent you from tanning. it just helps prevent you from burning. you will still tan when wearing sunscreen.

You can still burn with a sunscreen on, especially if you fail to follow the directions and do not reapply every 2 hours. (Zinc and titanium do not degrade with light and heat like chemical sunscreens, so you can go a bit longer) Also, the breakdown products of wearing a chemical sunscreen-no matter how high the spf- are worse than not wearing any at all. You will not see the damage right away, either.
Use a self tanner on your neck.

My neck NEVER tans. It's seriously tan-proof, even if I go to the tanning bed and lie there with my head tilted back to ensure maximum neck-tanning. Last year I got a massive tan and my neck was suck a different colour, I got an airbrush tan just on my neck. It worked really well because the airbrush-ness really blended the fake tan into the real tan. If I had tried self-tanner on myself at home I would have had some hideous overlap lines.

Haha nope! Though I ALSO thought I was the only one whose neck makes its own SPF. Especially since I always see people walking around with neck-wrinkle tans, so I know it IS possible to get a neck tan. I gave up lying in uncomfortable positions in the tanning bed. If it gets super noticeable, the airbrush tan works fine.
