I can agree that when you inject more of a hormone into yourself than your body produces, a change will occur, but everyone reacts differently.

It doesn't stop working, it just has more focus on one particular thing. Believe it or not, blood is drawn from other parts of the body(not the brain, otherwise every guy would die shortly) into the member to keep it erect, blood fills it up causing that effect.
