That "different eyelid" thing...FOTD

This is my second FOTD post and for the people who couldn't tell that I have different eyelids (one single, one double), I took special comparison pictures. and if ANYONE have any idea how to make it less obvious with makeup, PLEASE let me know. So far, my only luck is with eyelid glue but it's a pain to wear every day. (*Note: Eyelid glue is used to literally glue part of your eyelid together to creat the illusion that you have a crease in your eye.)

This is my Pink/Liner/Lash face

Inspired by my second EVER MAC purchases...yeah, I'm working my way up there slowly. Picked up prolash and Underage. Love Underage!

FACE: (dont like wearing heavy MU here, wanna help improve my acne thing.. >.>"")
-Physicians Formula Powder Foundation (my new fav. it looks alot better in real life though)
-Rimmel Blush in "Santa Rose"
-NYC Bronzer in Sunny (just a touch)

EYES:
-Rimmel Professional Liquid Liner in Black (dont like the brush too much)
-Dollar Store Lashes
-Bonne Belle e/l in PearlScene

LIPS:
-MAC l/g in Underage (SO IN LOVE with this thing)

No eyemakeup at all. See the difference in my eyelids?

Here with eyeliner, lipgloss, face MU

m99628063.jpg

With Lashes, although you can still kinda see the diference. *sigh

m99628060.jpg

I even put the liner thicker on one side and it still doesn't help.

m99628277.jpg

And I give up. In the orangey bathroom light it seems to look better?

m99628069.jpg

Hehe..i like this shot

And lastly, a smiley face!
Thanks for looking ~

from one asian lady to another -- i have a couple of suggestions:

first -- have you tried putting the liner a LOT thicker on the eye w/o the crease? I know you showed that you did it a bit thicker, but maybe double the thickness that you used in that pic. Look at yourself straight in the mirror with both eyes open and mark off on your crease-less eye how much bigger it would need to be to be the same size as the other eye. then close your lid and fill all of that space up with liner. not a total fix, but it will be a lot less obvious if you are wearing fake lashes too. you can also try doing smokey eye looks with the heavier liner to help conceal the unevenness.

second -- you mentioned eye glue. have you tried the eye tapes? Little clear adhesive strips you can get online or at asian beauty salons that you can tape onto your lid to create the crease. they aren't perfect, but if you apply a thick line of liquid liner on both eyes (on top of the tape on the crease-less eye) it will be pretty unnoticeable, especially coupled with flasies and smokey eyes again. This might be good bc it's a lot easier to use on a daily basis then the glue.

last option -- and i now this might sound drastic, but would you ever consider laser eyelid surgery? don't be appalled!! i don't usually take recommending cosmetic surgery to other ppl lightly. and i am in no way saying that you need it. in my opinion you looked REALLY pretty in your fotd and think if you played with your make-up a bit like i suggested above, it really wouldn't even be noticeable. all i'm saying is that if it personally bothers you, you could always look into the surgery. but don't do it for other ppl, do it for yourself. there is a difference -- i'm sure you know what i mean. i don't know where you live, but in cali (where i am) it is such a common procedure. its fairly cheap (as far a surgery goes) and is totally outpatient. they just numb the area, laser in a crease for you and send you on your merry way. it only takes about an hour with next to no risk. I've never personally done it, but went with my cousin when she got her lids done to drive her home. she got amazing results and was able to do daily activities that very same day and was completely healed within a week.

hth. please let me know if you want more info about anything.

I have the same exact problem but I've never tried the glue. I had an asian friend that got it from a plastic surgen so she could decide were she wanted the crease to be. She ended up not wanting it, which I think was wonderful because she had such natural gorgeous eyes

some days i have the exact same thing. for the single lid, i'll line as usual but the double, i'll make the line a bit thicker so no lid is showing. it works for me and no-one even notices. but u know what, when you're wearing mu, no-one can even tell its different so dont fret

I agree that you're quite pretty!! I didn't notice the eyelid difference until you showed the no make-up pic and pointed it out.

I've got that issue too but I've decided to live with it, mainly because most people don't notice it! My husband had to stare at me several times to see what I was talking about. I used to hate it mostly when I did a colourful eye with a different colour on the lower part of my lid, my eye with the fold would "give it away", so to speak, instead of being a "surprise" when I lower my lids (does that make sense?). In the end I figured it's not worth stressing over.

And you have gorgeous eyes so I hope you get less anxious over it! Beautiful shape, and definitely not small. The darker eyeshadow should help ease the situation, but don't be afraid to try out fun light colours which would look great on you.

I second hunnybun’s advice about eyeliner.

It will also help if you apply mascara more thickly on the eye w/o crease and use lengthening mascara to extend the lashes on same eye by just a little bit.

i used to have this same problem when i was younger .. around 14 or 15. no one really noticed until i pointed it out and stuff, just like you. and i'm twenty now, and it just disappeared around 16 or 17 yrs. it's really weird.. and maybe it'll happen to you? i agree w/ everyone else, darker makeup and thicker liner should help!

hahaha It seems that we've all got eyelid issues!
I'm half asian and I've got big chinky eyes! And most of the time when I wake up in the morining one of my eyelids is more crinkled than the other. It will stay that way the whole day too!

Your not alone.

It's all so frustrating!
I just deal with it=)

I used to have the same eyelids too - it changes as you get older. I went from single then half & half to double. But sometimes when I cry or sleep funny it goes back to the mix

Anyway, don't change a thing you look great the way you are. Don't be afraid to wear makeup however you want. Truth is if you didn't point it out we all wouldn't even notice!
