Hey guys, so I can't seem to find any threads that pertain to The Body Shop and their cosmetics so I was just wondering what everyone thought of their line of makeup?

i haven't used their products in ages. i used to really love their lip butters but that's mostly all i used. once i got a duo of metallic sticks (sort of like short, chubby shadesticks) that were alright but i never used them so i swapped them. i'm never really impressed when i do go in and look at their cosmetics.

I've got three of their shimmer cubes, and I really like them. Only thing is that I think they're too sheer, not very pigmented at all. And as christinebezans said, they kinda lost me as a customer when I found out that they've suddenly gone into animal testing.

As far as I know The Body Shop is now a sub division of L'Oreal, and L'Oreal is not against animal testing. I don't remember where I read that, so unfortunately I don't have any documents to back my statement.

Maybe christinebezans do?

The Body Shop does not test on animals.

Caring Consumer // A Guide to Kind Living

PETA endorses that site, and you know they wouldn't put their name on anything that wasn't legit when it comes to animal testing. I don't endorse them, or even agree with them most of the time, but I feel confident using them as a source when it comes to this subject.

There are some old conspiracy-theory, unsupported and unverified links floating around from the early nineties claiming the Body Shop's no animal testing policy is a fraud, but they really don't have any proof.

And I agree their brushes are awesome! I SO wanted to get a kabuki I saw there. It was so dense, luxurious and soft. But I already have one so...I refrained lol. They also have a great liquid eyeliner.

I bought their kabuki brush the other day for the grand price of £1.50, I've mastered cleaning them now so I can't mess this one up. One of the best I've ever used.

Also, I love their cubes and that other product they do, I don't know what it's called but it's like a pan with waves of different colour in it. Very WOC friendly.
