The dreaded drop...

I personally haven't dropped anything...yet...I have such butter fingers....but my nieces (@ the time were 4 & 5) were messing around, bumped the table dropped the cup thingy where they keep the test lip wands and since it's glass it broke....I was so embarrassed but did help clean it up, and for this reason are not allowed in a MAC store (by order of their mother of course, not MAC).....and another time an MA was showing me some fluidlines, she dropped one and we both closed our eyes hoping that when we opened them nothing would be broken...the glass was chipped but not a casualty.

Yeah i love those who offer to help - i never take the offer but it is a good gesture.

And yeah it happens all time. I have broken more shadows than i can count and my favorite is when i've dropped a whole bottle of foundation and it burst all over a customer. That's when you know you are going to have a 'GREAT' day.

I was moving out the way for an MA at MAC during a busy weekend trip to the counter and as I backed up I knocked over about 6 of the tendertones that were on display. Thankfully none of them broke but I was very embarassed!

I knocked one of the glasses with alcohol over once...
I didn't have to tell anyone... They heard it

This wasn't something caused by me, so thankfully I'm not guilt ridden now, but something that happened whilst I was at my local counter. The brush display stand was perched on the edge of one of the surfaces by the blushes and then eek it was brushed past, wobbled and literally the entire thing fell off smashing into a million pieces. It was everywhere and made the loudest noise ever, you couldn't help but hear it. The MAs were like 'oh shoot' but no one seemed that bothered, it got brushed up, end of really.

I work for a china concession within a department store, so I know all too well about things getting broken and oh heck people feel bad if they knock/drop a glass or cup. So I never make a fuss over it, it happens. I'm sure there are worse things!

Now at the stores I work at I'm always dropping shit and running into things lol. I can't speak how many times I've knocked over perfumes when I was ringing and thing "OMG". But look and they're ok ::yesss::

Someone spilled Pepsi all over our table of hoodies last month tho. I was so mad. It spilled on the floor and everything. No one took the blame, and I didn't see anyone with one so I guess they ran out. I haaaate that. When they come up to you like StarryEyed says, you feel like atleast the told us and apologized, ya know.

These stories don't make me feel as bad! Hehehe, I know we've all got some stories. I'm sure it won't be the last time I drop something at MAC. I just hope I don't drop like an entire bottle of foundation, now THAT would be horrible.

Ive thankfully never dropped anything, yet lol But i am one of those people who will let a salesperson in stores or MA know if i seen a big mess like , excuse me just wanted to let you know ive noticed somebody must have broken so an so and left it a big mess wherever. Not in a tattle tale sort of way though lol If a person made a mess i wouldnt go running for a salesperson to tell what theyve done lol I mean like if i just randomly see a big mess with nobody around something thats been sometimes purposely done and left that way like sometimes people will rip open packages instead of using the samples then leave it just torn open a mess sitting there. But i just feel like im just simpley letting them know thats all.Ive never said it in a way like, hey theres a mess you need to go clean that up right now.I once was in Walmart and i seen a really big dirty sort of rusty knife,a used on not one from in the store, that somebody had left randomly sitting on a low shelf in the cosmetics aisle! And i noticed when i was walking through there. And alot of mothers will go through that area with there small children an obviously little kids grab everything. So i had to tell a salesperson. But would do that anyway though, leave a big rusty filthy knife in a shopping center? I know thats a more extreame case then broken makeup lol But ive never thought of it as being rude or interupting anyones job.Ive always thought i was just being a cool person and letting them know

OMG! On Black Friday - I was at the Navy Exchange (a military store) getting all my goodies and I'm waiting in a massive wrap-a-round line with at least 30 or 40 other people around me ... when I pushed my cart and out drops a dark red bottle of nail polish from the cart! It slipped through one of the slats and splattered everywhere! Everyone just stopped and looked at me for being the biggest klutz and making such a mess. Luckily it didn't get on anyone (how that happened I have no idea) but I felt so bad cos it smelled like polish and I had to get one of the employees to clean it up for me.

Mind you, I was still in line for another 10 or so minutes with everyone who had witnessed my debacle.

So embarassing.

I once spilled about a quarter jar of pigment. I simply fixed the lid on the rest of the jar, put it away, and grabbed a wipe to clean up the spilled product myself. No need to worry anyone else about it!

Awwww, that is a bad one! I would have probably started crying out of embarrassment. Or made some bad joke like "anyone need a manicure?", something cheesy like that. Heh

But yes it is nerve-racking at times!

Oh believe me
...we get that you are just looking...
The reason we always check on people a bunch is because the #1 thing people complain to MAC about is that they were "ignored" or "no one wanted to wait on them". That is probably why they were all over you .

I went into the MAC store at almost closing time with my daughter because I was waiting on a girlfriend to finish shopping. The MA was extremely nice like almost excited to see me. We were chatting it up and i went to reach for a pigment and my daughter went in for the beakers. Of course the beaker with the tester wands falls but doesn't break. The MA was still nice about it as we cleaned it up and we joked about me buying something since I broke it.

I left with teal and blue brown pigment.
