The Makeup Show- NYC

first off i had an AMAZING time!!! i met a lot of really cool people in the makeup industry and i'm looking forward to taking their classes and keeping in touch with them. i wish i had my camera with me but i'll know for next year to bring it. my friend & i had a blast and we got our makeup done by 2 of the most talented people i've ever seen work. we also checked out the wolfe brothers and their body painting and special fx. those guys are great!!! there was a ton of airbrushing & body painting booths (which is something i def. want to look into).

i'm so excited to have finally stepped foot into the makeup world and not feel like "oh she's so young so she must not know anything." we were treated with respect by our new friends, shared stories, joked, and had so much fun. and of course we talked about myspace....can't forget that one! haha after the show we went to the MAC store in SoHo (of course why wouldn't i NOT go to MAC). we did take pics when we got back to my friend's house and i also took pics of what i bought. so enjoy! oh and i also finally bought a TRAIN CASE and a few other things that have to be shipped to me. most of that stuff was actually freebies too!

wow beautiful makeup on both of you girls...im sure the show was amazing, im glad everyone was so nice and generous!!! i know how it stinks being young in the makeup world...but i give you guys lots of props on being brave and going to that - u earned ur stripes in my book

WOW that is soooo captivating! Did they do that by hand or used airbrush guns? I wish they had stuff like this in SC

Do you know if they ever do this kinda thing in L.A.?? I'm going to visit friends out there in August and I would absolutely die if I could go to a convention or something! If anyone out in CA knows please contact me!!!

aww thank you so much lauren! yea i was really surprised at how nice everyone was. we were kinda nervous about if people were going to act snobby. and it was nothing like that!! yea i work really hard at the salon i work at and also when i do makeup on my days off. i'm trying to learn as much as i can now and then use it! and especially the show was only $35 for one day. classes are very expensive so i try to go to as many of these more affordable shows and classes. it was crazy they had so many classes going on at one time we were running around!

mine was airbrushed with stencils and my friend's was done freehand (the girl was amazing, she freehanded one model's whole body!!!). i know they do have huge trade shows in cali. i think one just passed or there is one coming up. try searching on google or something for it.

haha yea what a small world! i actually did my makeup before the show, but he just airbrushed right over it. it was a whole line from whatever company's table we were at, but i forgot the name of it.

that palette with all the eyeshadows & blushes is from industry cosmetics. it does have a cover with a mirror, but i just had to smush everything together to fit in the pic. i haven't used it yet it's still in the bag with all my stuff.

The work they did looks awesome, like a ballet dancer's stage makeup. Glad you had fun! I wish they held stuff like that here in AZ, but I doubt they would.
