There's something wrong with my 182

I have gently washed my 182 buffer brush the way I always wash my brushes. With mild sopa and luke warm water. And now it looks all strange.

The dome is flatter now and the bristles have fanned out. It doesn't look or feel like it used to.

What has happened? What is wrong? Can I do something?

I think I'll get a picture for you.

hhmmmm that is strange. i have had mine for years and it's kept it's shape. do you dry it by laying it flat? that's what i do - i lay it flat over an edge so that the actual hair isn't touching anything. maybe you could wrap something around it while it is wet to stop it fanning out?

I normally do that too. But I actually think I let it dry standing up.

If you leave it to dry standing up (like it is in this picture), the water will run down to the ferrule and handle of the brush - eventually it may rot. Not good not good!

Other than that I've not much to say, I don't have the 182

have you thought about putting something over the bristles to hold them together while drying so it doesnt dry so puffy? like the brush guards from coastal scents? im sure you could do a DIY brush guard by cutting up some old fishnet tights or something though

It looks a little fanned out. I actually dry mine upside down; I squeeze out the moisture really tight, leave the shape tapered and place it up against my makeup box so that it is upside down, it works great and dries faster!

Thanks. I'll try washing it again that way and see if it helps.

Koren has a great video on how to wash and dry the 182. It should never be dried standing up!
