Can anyone tell me what causes lipstick/gloss to cake up in the center of your lips? I hope you ladies understand my question. After having my lipstick or gloss on for a while, it tends to cake up around the corners and in the center of my lips (where the top and bottom meet). Thanks in advance for your help.

First exfoliate your lips with vaseline and a toothbrush and let it sink in a bit and then put on your lipstick. It's probably just flaky skin which is making the product all clumpy.

Here is my recipe for a lip exfoliater:

1 part cocoa butter
2 parts sugar

For chapped lips exfoliate twice a day. After each treatment cover lips with a rich lip balm (i just use more cocoa butter). Your lips will be so soft in a few days.

Do not melt in microwave, the sugar with break down and you need the crystals to take of the excess skin. Take a old small jar a decorate it. I used an old pickled pimento jar lol.

i do the vaseline thing except for i use a washcloth instead of a toothbrush. sometimes at night if my lips are really flaky, i apply a super thick layer of vaseline and in the morning i have to scrub off the dead skin with a washcloth as i'm washing my face. it sounds icky but it definitely helps. i used to have the same problem with cakey lipstick!
