this is my new friend, geno

he was totally an impulse buy...he's also very active for a tarantula, at least compared to my last rosehair. i decided this morning i missed the company of a large arachnid, so i thought i'd go find me a new buddy.

i was going to get a scorpion since i've never had one before, but the only one i could find was a flatrock scorpion and i'd much rather have an emperor scorpion, so i opted for a tarantula. the pet shop we went to had a mexican flame knee tarantula that was pretty neat, but he was ninety bucks so...maybe next time. there were also a couple pinktoes there, but i've always been a pretty big fan of the rosehairs.

so i bought a little tank, some bark, a really nifty fake log he seems to be enjoying and a little pool for his water rocks. anyway! here's my new friend, geno:

My heart skipped a beat when I saw that geno was a tarantula! I am very afraid of spiders, I can't deal with little ones now if I saw this in person I'd fall into a coma. That is scary, for some reason, that red colored spot on his head scares me, and the hair all over. But I am glad that geno now has a loving home, that is all that matters. I'll stick with cats though
