Unfortunately its not surprising. :-( Refilling the bottles with a cheap product is stealing the name and tarnishing it for us nail professionals who use quality products. The shops know people want OPI, but they are not willing to pay a few more dollars to supply it to the customers. When you buy it in bulk and at salon prices its not that much. Thanks for sharing this article!

there is so much wrong in the world. seriously - if the buisnesses can't afford more opi or high brand then shut down. don't rip people off! it could cost them loss of custom anyway if people find out!

It wouldn't surprise me. There are a lot of things that bad nail salons do, that's just one of them. They often use MMA in the acrylics (illegal in most countries), refil good CND bottles with generic product, do not clean their brushes or change towels on the tables. No wonder people get fungal infections.

Just remember when you're looking for a nail salon -recommendations are best & that you usually get what you pay for (eg don't be enticed by cheap prices).

I've actually never been to a nail specific salon, and after hearing the horror stories about the cheap 'nail bars' that are popping up all over malls I don't particularly want to *shudders* I favour reputable beauty salons, like Studio 31 in New Zealand. They have a couple of branches and the staff are fabulous
