Thoughts/comments on See Thru Colour collection

I was surprised to see the See Thru Colour collection out at the counter when I went to check out the Sundressing collection. Surprised, but not complaining!

I got See Thru Lip Colour in Rose De Sheer, See Thru Cheek Colour in Subtle Hint, and Lipgelee in Valentine's.

See Thru Lip Colour is amazing!
It's packaged in the same type of tube as Lipglass, with a sponge-tip wand applicator. It looks extremely dark in the tube, but be assured it goes on sheer but pigmented. It's just as the product name says "See Thru." This is by far the best lipstain I've ever tried! It's a thick gel formula that goes on very smoothly and sets in just a minute. It doesn't cause lips to feel dry, and the color doesn't settle into lip creases. MAC should definitely make this item permanent in its collection. Whoever came up with the formula is a genius! It makes my lips look like I've just had a popsicle. It lasts through meals, doesn't flake off, and you can wear a Lipglass, Lustreglass or Lipgelee over it to change the effect. It's just perfect!

See Thru Colour Cheek is disappointing!
It's packaged in a 10 ml squeezable bottle with a sponge top. The product comes out of a hole in the center of the sponge. The packaging is neat; however, unless you're applying this to bare skin I wouldn't recommend putting the sponge onto your face or you'll get foundation all over it. Unfortunately, the product really has no pigment to it. It's more than "See Thru"; it does a disappearing act! I've tried to get this to work for me, but cannot. I'm planning to return it. Out of all the MAC products I bought over the past two years, I've only returned one other one. This is nothing like Tarte Cheek Stain IMO, which actually has pigment. Sorry, MAC. This one's a bust.

The new shimmery Lipgelees are beautiful!
Some of them are quite pigmented. I've read posts that these are permanent so that's a very good thing.

I got all but the darkest of the lipgelee's and am in love with them and glad mac is making them perment, and I also picked up rose de sheer. and wasnt impressed with the cheek color when I saw it in the store however I might try it when I go back later within the week.

and I totally agree with you on the see thur lip color I was afraid to try it till I saw it on my hand and that was on thrusday now its friday night and have showered twice and the pink color is still very bright also after it set on the lips will stay on for hours I put it on at 8 something this morning at 11pm it is still wearing strong without applying it again. I would trade the perment lipgelee's to make these perment, but because its not I am going to be stocking up on these because I can see my self using these everyday!

the lipgelee's are very nice and beautiful I love valentine's and goldensoft probley the best and then saphoric and cellopink with cellopink you need to put the stain on before using it otherwise its just shimmer on the lips the others are highly pigmented and I have no problem with them showing up on there own.

and with buying see thru cheek color I might wait to buy it till there is a store closer that I can return it to if I dont like it.

Wow, how come they are out already where you guys are? I was at the pro store today here in Montreal, they didn't have them yet...

hmm I donno I got mine at LA pro they get everything about 2 or 3 weeks earlier then most stores (a week before other pro stores) and will put it out when they get it.

not gonna be one to complain about that even when its far from me, I also know I'm gonna be going there when the pigment line comes out and get those a bit early to.

also think LA and NY get things earlier/and exclusive collections because only those two pro stores are going to be getting the pretty boy quad as well from what I was told.

I tried my cheek stain in awash in pink yesterday and was also disappointed

it didn't really show up much or last that long. maybe I didn't use enough product? I only used a tiny bit.

I also was dissapointed in valentine's - it just looked like shimmer on my lips, none of that gorgeous color showed up on me. maybe I need to try it over a lipstick or something.

the lip stains looked icky to me, so I didn't grab one, but after hearing your reviews I just might go back and grab one. which color do y'all think is the best?

Yes, pictures please! I'd really like to see some pictures of the see thru lip colors on lips (or even just swatched) -- I've seen some pics of them in the tube, but you can't tell what the color looks like because they're so dark. I THINK I'm going to want all of them, just because the formula sounds perfect for me... but I need to see the colors!

I'm excited to see the lipgelees in person. I was a huge fan of Dame in a Dress, Cool & Aloof and Who's That Lady Lipgelee. Hope these will live up to that hype.

i am in love with the lipgelees. i only have one so far (glosspitality), which i like, but these colors are so much more me, i'm especially excited about the saphoric one...

I got two of the lipstains and they look so pretty! I think I'll end up going back and getting the one I didn't pick up because they are LE and I don't want to miss out.

I didn't test or buy the cheekstains, but the bottle looked small compared to other cheekstains out there.

I went to LA. pro yesterday and tried the cheekstains and well I wouldnt waste my money on them, I tried them and they wouldn't show up on my skin no matter what I did, and I'm really pale.

I did pick up the rest of the lipstains and the last of the lipgelee's, wish the lipstains were perm though, I think rose de sheer and the other pink will be the first to be sold out. so I got to pick up a few more for back ups.
