Love em both. There are several NARS blushes that MAC has no dupe for. The color payoff and texture of the blushes rock. I have a few of their shadow duos too that I love. Emmanuel shadow is one of my faves.
UD shadows are awesome. Don't have anything other than UDPP from UD. My list of faves include Asphyxia, Maui Wowie, Hotpants (what Pink Freeze should have been) Flash, and Flipside. The deluxe shadows are great too. Peace is GOREGEOUS!!!

I love NARS.. their eyeshadows are very silky and pigmented. Great color selection.. blushes, of course, are another fave.. I'm NC37 and the blushes I have are: Oasis, Lovejoy, Torrid, Deepthroat, Sin and a couple others I forgot the name of... The Multiples are awesome! I use them as a highlighter, I love the texture of them. It's like a cream but dries like a powder. the lipsticks and glosses are nice too. I used to use the Pressed Powder but now use Chanel but it was a good blotting powder.

I like Urban Decay but don't use it much. I just like the eyeshadows.

I never tried Urban Decay, but here are my thoughts on NARS:

Love their blushes, they're very pigmented and always sheer, although I don't think "Orgasm" suits everyone. I love their lipsticks and some of the glosses. I hate both concealers though, one doesn't conceal anything if you have dark circles and the other just looks cakey and yucky.

Love their bronzer too.

Both lines are great. I love UD's shadows and I have also heard that their liners are great. I also love NARS blushes and shadows (the shadow duos are nice too) and I have heard that their lipsticks are great, but haven't tried them.

I love them both! I love Urban Decays eye shadows. Nars has great stuff for your face.. and I really like their pressed powder highlighters! Definitely recommend both brands.

I haven't tried any of UD's items but I think you'll love Nars. I know I do.

I have Torrid, Deep Throat (better than Orgasm, IMHO) & Sin blushes and they're so fantastic I felt compelled to order Angelika & Sertao.

They're blushes are by far the best I've tried. They're sheer, buildable & stay put!

Their eye duos are great too. I only have Habenera at the moment & the colour pay off is great. Not chalky at all & it's very blendable.

As for Nars' lipsticks you must must must get Dolce Vita (sheer dusty rose). It's my HG/default lipstick & it looks great on just about everyone. Their lipsticks are also smooth/silky.

Oh and if you want to try out a great bronzer definitely get Laguna. I love it because it doesn't look orange.

Btw, I'm an NC30 HTH!

Not too familiar with UD, although I love their heavy metal liners.

Love nars lipsticks, esp rouge d'enfer, great warm red.
And I agree with a previous reply that Nars Orgasm is not for everyone - it certainly wasn't for me

Of the two lines, I use NARS the most. I've tried every product they make with the exception of skincare and their concealer (they don't make one for me). I LOVE their blush, it's all I'll use now. They're super rich in color, but they can be sheer if you need them to, for example, Exhibit A is super bright red, but with a light hand and a soft brush, it's amazing. The shadows can't be surpassed as far as texture and color pay off, i never need a colored base underneath them to make them stand out, unlike other companies. Lipsticks, amazing. Glosses are great, but they have a funny smell to me.

As far as UD goes, I only use the primer potion (which blows my mind everytime!) and the shadows. Both are great, but they dont have a great range of textures, most of the shadows are frosty or have glitter bits in them, and I tend to be attracted to a mix of finishes.

I think it will. I like to think of it as the colour of my lips but better.

For you I think it will be a great pinky neutral.

I looove NARS' blush and eyeshadows. I would definitely go test some shades at your closest sephora.

I have only used Urban Decay's eye primer, which is great.

I like the Nars lipsticks and blushes. The lipsticks can be a bit drying, so I put some balm on underneath beforehand.

I adore UD, but be forewarned that most of their shadows contain shimmer or glitter. The glitter can tend to go everywhere, too. That's fine by me, though. I really like the pigmentation and wild colors.

UDPP is about as good as it gets. Hard to believe there was a time I didn't use it.

UD used to be my favourite makeup brand, but they turned against me, they insisted on d/c -ing everything I really, really loved *sob, sob* - (RIP lip inks, cream eyeshadow, metal face cases, etc...)

Their face cases are great value if you want to try a range of things out (though I'm still weeping that they d/c the older, slimmer metal cased ones, sniffle)

Their lipgunks are great, highly pigmented glosses (more liquid lipsticks, really) with candy flavours that I think are great (but guess what, I think they're getting discontinued).

Their xxx cooling lipglosses are.... OK. They taste nice, but are all very very transparent. If you like juicy tubes (I don't), you might like these.

Their single "standard" eyeshadows range from superlative to "too annoying to use" IMHO. I love the shimmer ones like Shotgun, Shattered and Vert, I hate the "glittery" ones (Uzi, Oil Slick, Kiddie Pool, Exhaust etc) as the glitter does not stay on your lids at all. They depot brilliantly into MAC palettes.

Their 24/7 eye pencils are a nice formula and pretty colours, but don't stay any better than any other eye pencil I've tried.

UDPP is great for fixing eyemakeup, but it seems to irritate my lids a bit and makes blending a good deal tougher. I've used my bottle up (I used to keep it for special occasions) and am undecided as to whether to repurchase. I've never heard of anyone else getting itchy eyelids with it, though.

The best thing in their range at the moment IMHO is the glitter eyeliners. I have 4, and would particulary recommend "Baked" and "Mullet". They're wonderful.

Their mineral makeup is very nice indeed and cheaper than a lot of other high end mineral foundations, but I prefer liquids tbh. I got a sample at one point and was pretty impressed with it.

I reckon MAC beats UD hands down for value for money (at least in the UK) and I only buy UD if it's on sale (most things seem about 15% more expensive than the MAC equivalent).

I don't have much NARS, just one eyeshadow - "Night Porter", a dense black with emerald shimmer - and it's beautiful.

I have never used Nars or UD, but I recently ordered UD e/s called Envy.. it is in the r.i.p list. I am hoping that it will be comparable to Pompous Blue e/s. I should get it today.

I went to Sephora on Tuesday, and I was pleased withe e/s colors: smog, baked, and stray dog (which reminds me of satin taupe). I did not see too many Nars shades that I loved. There were some empty displays....
