to highlight or not to highlight

i'm growing out my hair. My hair is naturally wavy and is in pretty good condition. I get a trim for split ends every 6-8 weeks an try to stay away from damaging my hair as much as possible.

Here's the thing. My hair still needs to grow a good 4-6 inches to be where i want it to be. Should I get highlights now and possibly have to cut off some damaged ends or should I wait until my hair is the length I want and *then* get highlights?

What do you guys think? Any experiences either way?

I think you should just go for it and get highlights. I don't think youre really saving that much by letting it grow out until youre where you want it.

get them now! they are way less damaging then allover color if ur trying to grow ur hair out.

just get some good hair products like deep conditioner and ect. to keep ur ends in good shape! and keep up with the trims, thats really important
