NEW YORK - Let the couch-jumping begin: Tom Cruise and Katie Holmes are expecting a baby. Holmes' pregnancy was reported Wednesday by People magazine. The couple have been dating since April and became engaged in June.

"Tom and Katie are very excited, and the entire family is very excited," Lee Anne DeVette, Cruise's spokeswoman, told People.

It would be Holmes' first child. Cruise has two children, Connor, 10, and Isabella, 12, from his marriage to Nicole Kidman.

No further details were available. Devette added that Holmes, 26, "has never felt better."

Cruise, 43, is now shooting "Mission" Impossible 3."

I agree....Funny how everything they do is just before a 'big premier' or other big events.

Did anybody see Tom on Oprah.....I had the embarrassing feeling for him on the way he was acting!

Hrmm.. We'll see if Katie is embracing the Scientology thing as much as she claims.

In Scientology a birth must be performed in complete silence with no drugs. The mother can't even scream in pain for fear of upsetting the newborn.

Figures this religion was founded by a man.

dude! i was listening to the radio this morning and they were telling us that scientology belives that:

- the mother is not allowed to scream or make any sounds during the birth or have any pain relievers or epidural

- the baby must not be examined, touched and no tests must be run for the 1st 7 days of the baby's life because they go thru enough trauma being born and the 7 days is to allow the baby to settle down.

umm WTF?????????

Hmm, so what would scientologists do in the case of an emergency c-section? Graham was a month premature and had to be delivered by emergency c-section. It required a spinal. That means lots and lots of drugs right into the spine. I was bleeding and he had to come out. So would they have just let the both of us die?? Just curious (oh yeah, I studied psychology in university so you can guess how I feel about Tom's rant on post partum depression)
