Toning down Merrily Mineralize Blush?

Hey ladies!! I got the Merrily MB from a great seller here on Specktra and I love, love, love the color but it seems like this particular blush is WAY more pigmented than the others I have. I thought these were sheer enough that you could build the color but Merrily is way different. The first time I used it, I barely swiped my brush over and was horrified with how much color it deposited on my cheekies!! I had to BLEND, BLEND, BLEND to get it to look right and I still felt like I looked like a clown even though my coworkers told me I looked fine, just "healthy". I have Warm Soul, Gleeful and Gentle and none of these do like Merrily does. Any suggestions on how to tone it down even though I barely run my brush over it? I blow on the blush brush b/4 I use it and that didn't help much. Also, has anyone else had this issue with it??

This is one blush which has pigmentation equavalent to NARS,and so first time users are in a for a surprise,if they apply it like any other MAC blushes.I use my mac 182 kabuki to apply 'this' blush.I cannot use my regular blush brush/mac 168(which is very precise for cheeks) for this blush, coz it deposits way too much colour.i tried my 187 stippler, but i was disappointed coz the blending was not perfect, and it left red dots from the blush on my cheeks, and it was a pain blending it..If you dont have a kabuki, then first dab of the excess blush on a tissue and then apply with a light hand..hope this helps..

When I wear it, I just lightly tap my brush on it and apply. Never swipe or you will get that "Clown" effect. Also try a stippling brush. I don't have a MAC one but the one I do have from Ulta works well with it.

Try a brush like the 187 or 188 for sheer coverage for the blush. Also, you could try tapping the brush a few times or sheer out the colour a bit by dabbing the brush on your hand before using it.

I have the Merrily blush and love it. I quickly swipe the brush over the blush, swirl it a few times on the back of my hand and then apply the blush. It never seems to be too dark that way.

use the 182 or 181 brushes to apply and buff into skin. use a light hand as all the mineralize blushes are highly pigmented.

LOVE this blush. I'm wearing it today and yes it is highly pigmented. I use my stippling brush like the 187(mine is from Sephora though) LIGHTLY dip (don't swipe or swirl the brush) into the blush and tap the apples of each cheek (yes I can get both cheeks done with one LIGHT dip...lol)and then swirl and blend blend blend!

I love merrily. I do it like ashpardesi...I apply with a kabuki and then buff my ass off. That is some pigmented stuff...but how I love it!! So beautiful when blended in properly...like you just came in from the cold.

Oh, and not all the Mineral blushes are that pigmented IMO...Pleasantry and Dainty are lovely as well, but I have to really layer them to get them to show up at all on my NC35 skin.

I was just on MAC's site a little while ago and I don't think it was on there anymore but some of the others were. I read somewhere here that someone found it at the CCO but I would try a seller here. Don't do Ebay unless you find a good price and a trusted seller.

My CCO still has it, along with Gleeful and Gentle.

I use my 187 to apply this blush. One tap on the blush with my 187 and that's enough to do a cheek. I only use the tiniest amount of product so that it doesnt over do it on my NW15-20 skin

My sentiments exactly! I'm so mad they didn't include this as a perm item. I'm hoping for the day that I can catch it at a CCO so I can have a backup. Anyways, I do the exact same thing to apply.
