Too picky, or not?

So...

Good decision, or is this law kinda broad...

I think it would be one thing to arrest someone for putting a camera up my skirt, or under the dressing room door, but this? I'm not totally sure. I kinda agree with the lawyer.

Yes this was in bad taste, a bit pervy, but I dunno if it's a crime.

Maybe Britney should only forget her panties in Texas, at least she could have the pervy press arrested

it's a very subjective issue.

one woman might feel uncomfortable if a stranger took a photo of her in a bikini on the beach without asking first. a different woman might not care, a third might even play up to the camera.

this law is broad, but i can see how it was created in the interest of providing more protection to the person being filmed rather than less. introducing a measure of what is acceptable will just cause conflict. different people have different standards.

another thing not mentioned - how old were these girls? if they were school girls, and he was deliberately zooming in on the crotch area, then he deserves to be charged. he's a teacher.

They were high school girls, and if I remember correctly, not even students at the high school he worked at. And I'm sorry, but without permission, taking film of a female's groin area is creepy and to me, seems to be VERY questionable behavior. What purpose could that video tape possibly have other than for sexual purposes? And it is even more egregious to me that the girls are underage and aren't engaged in a "sexy" activity where they are putting themselves out there to be ogled.

Seriously I dont like what he did but some people get off on wierd stuff and theirs nothing you can do about that.

If you walk down the street wearing high heels and a short skirt shouldnt you get in trouble then 2 beacuse your obviously trying to arrouse the public by dressing in a sexy, provactive way.

I think people are making a bigger deal out of stuff then it needs to be.

I don't like that he did that, but I don't think it's illegal. The number of sexual fetishes in the world- almost anyone could be accused of filming someone for a sexual fetish; the one thing I learned about sexuality is almost anything can be a turn on. Anything. What if I got off from seeing women walk around in long, ankle length skirts? Or someone reading a book in a park?

Most men probably think anything a women is doing is meant to be ogled at =P

Jailbait is a common term for a reason. Guys tend to want to hook up with little girls...

To me, it's a crime...the girls are minors, he's an adult. There are also rules about videtaping or taking pictures in a school. Parents have to give permission to have their kids taped or photographed. Just that mere fact sets up the school district for a lawsuit from some parent that gets pissed off about the filiming...I know I would.

No, you shouldn't...you have the right to walk down the street naked if you wanted to (I personally don't recommend it, but, hey...to each his own!

) This is the same reasoning that defense attorneys representing rapists give...and it's not right.

Sure there are....but that hasn't stopped some people from doing it....the fact that you have the right to do it remains...the fact that you'll probably get arrested for it also remains...

what the lawyer said about the Dallas cowboys doesnt apply. They signed up for the job knowing full well that they would be on television and in photographs wearing skimpy outfits that are meant to amuse or please the male watchers. Its not the same thing at all as these girls wrestling (all they signed up for was a competition and maybe a photograph of the winner for the school newspaper).
