Transporting my make up for a photoshoot. UK to VIRGINIA

Anyone have any idea how I do this? I have about 300 pieces of MAC now. And I am going from Gatwick UK to Norfolk VA. For a photo shoot. (also if anyone wants to meet and hang out that would be nice =D)

I really was wondering how I transport it without it being smashed. I have 2 bags of clothes. My weight limit is 50lbs each bag (So 100lbs total) and I think my case weighs about 60lbs on its own! Arghh!

So if I cant transport it, what essentials do I bring? =S So confused. Please help!!

Oi!

I had to transport my entire collection when I moved from California to Virginia, but mine isn't nearly as big as yours! I just bought a train case and made everything as compact as possible and put it in a backpack, and I brought that as my carry-on.

Since you have so much, and they are very strict these days, I would suggest taking only the things that are essential with you as carry on. The rest you can package, and bubble wrap etc and send with your luggage. Just make sure that you don't send anything like tweezers, or anything sharp or anything that's more than 4oz of liquid. Check your airport's guidelines for what's okay and what's not.

Good luck chickie. I would say for us to meet up but I don't think I live very close to Norfolk

I travel fairly frequently and always go through this dilemma, fortunately for me when I do a permanent relocation I get crown into pack up and transport most of my stuff.

heres what I've learnt:

1. try and travel with some budget stuff so if you leave, lose or break it, it wont be a big deal.

Seeing you're going for a photo shoot above doesn't apply so ...

Liquids, gels, creams check them in.

Checked in train case should be well padded so you don't leave to much room for the items to move around and knock against each other.

Taking any pump bottles? Depress the pump before hand so the tube thingo is not full as they tend to leak during flights.

tape around the lids of any loose jars in case of leakage (like what some times happens with those 5mg sample jars of loose mineral powders)

Delicate items like MSF's bubble wrap and carry on.

have surgical spirits handy so you can repress any flight casualties.

Try & avoid taking your "HG, rare as hens teeth, limited edition" stuff as Murphy's law dictates if some thing has to break it will be one of these.
