Hey guys! I'm going to China (specifically Nanjing and Shanghai) and would love any and all tips for traveling out of the country. Is there something I should see while I'm in China? Do you know any good shopping places? Or do you have traveling tips in general? Thanks guys!!!

Sounds fun! i've never been to Asia, but i've been to Africa 3x and Europe multiple times. The first thing I always do is find out where the U.S embassy is! Because God forbid anything were to happen like an uprising(hey you never know) once you're on the grounds you are in United States territory and you will be safe. Know where the local hospital and Chemist store OH and mall hehe

lol.

Basically just be aware of your surrondings, dont go anywhere alone. Also learn the basics of communication. When i went to east Africa i learned to say certain things in Swahili so people would know what i was trying to do or say. There is a book called "The Go Guide" that my Husband and i used when we traveled to different parts of east Africa, it's a book for traveling out of the country, there is a secular version and a christian version. Good Luck and get the most out of it!

Be sure to pack for the weather, definitely. I have a friend living in Beijing right now and the weather there changes from sunny to stormy in the space of a day. Also, I hear some parts of China are more humid than others (I assume that Shanghai won't be so bad since it's close to the ocean), so bring along so makeup/skin care that will help calm your skin if it freaks out due to that.

As for what to see and where...I've yet to go myself, so I don't know.

But I wish you all the fun in the world! I'm very envious!

Hi I'm in Shanghai right now. You can visit my blog about Shanghai for some places to go. It's a bit warm, but at night it's a bit cool/fresh. I would suggest for you to bring a chinese/english dictionary or if you have that dictionary on the cellphone or iPhone it's helpful. Enjoy!
