twin pigments: vanilla vs. jardin aires??? am i crazy?

(i just bought vanilla)and i just swatched vanilla & jardin aire pigments on my hand and they look VERY similar! am i nuts?? in the containers they look very different.

i still have to try them on my eyes....did anyone notice this? please advise. i feel like they're dupes of each other and don't need them both. if you agree they are too similar to each other, which one should i keep/get more use of?

*scratching head* they look VERY different on me. vanilla is much smoother and has that pinkish gold duo chrome with a cream base color, and ja is just a super shiny champaign color to

They're totally different on me, too. I suppose they could look similar, depending on your skin tone...I know that's the case with quite a few of MAC's stuff.

Are you sure you have two genuine products?

They are pretty different to me. Did you happen to swatch them with the same finger & maybe there was some residue from your first swatch left??

i m sure they're genuine, they came from mac directly, ordered online
i just swatched them on my hand wet, and jardin aires looks like the same color family as vanlla, a little darker..

my skin has lots of yellow in it. i use b/t nc 25-35 , is my yellowness causing this false swatch reading??

i m gonna swatch them over bare study paint pot and see what happens...

Im nc30 and there very different on me i have both. Vanilla is duo chrome,creamy whiteish/pinkish/goldish more on the creamy color if that makes sense and jardin aires is beighy/champaign frosty/shiny love them both very different.

Hmm I don't know if it's your skintone because I'm also a NC30/NC35 and they are both different on me.


EDIT: I swatched on my hand this morning and I noticed that vanilla looks similar to Jardin Aires in certain lights and more white under other lights. So yes they did look similar on my hand.

I'm much fairer, but these aren't alike at all to me. When I thought Jardin Aires was similar to stuff I already own, I swatched it with Melon, Deckchair, Goldenaire, and Dazzleray. It's much more similar to those than to Vanilla, IMO. Vanilla is more sheer with hints of other colors, while Jardin Aires is a bolder peachy champagne with gold reflects. I use Vanilla as a highlight, but Jardin Aires would never work for that on me. It's interesting if it appears similar to others though!

They look very different on me. You might want to take them to a store and compare with the samples?
