Two eyeshadow design recommendation

I would like some recommendations for neutral colors which would look good for one eyeshadow design and also good combinations which would be good for two eyeshadow design.

I would like to avoid luster and frost finishes since they wouldn't work in my conservative work environment.

I am trying to keep my makeup simple and I don't want to apply too many different shades of eyeshadow at any one time.

I have dark brown eyes.

what always works well for me at work is:
- any nice neutral as a lid color - like naked lunch, ricepaper, or light ray, or bare study paint pot washed over the lid.
- a brown in the crease just to define the eyes a little - i use Dark Edge, cork, expresso, or whichever brown suits your skintone

brown liner, and a touch of mascara

a frost lid color isnt too over the top if you use a matte crease color or a matte highlight, and viceversa. especially if you dont use a super heavy hand. its not gonna come out super metallic finish, but it will give you a little bit of pop for the eyes and will give you a nice awake look.

Is Groundwork or Bare Study paint pot better for me to use as an eyeshadow base given that I am NC25 in the Satinfinish foundation color?

Can the eyeshadows like Shroom and Ricepaper function as a base or do I need to go with a paintpot?

I'm NW20/25 and use Groundwork as a base, it's a muted no-frost taupe and it's great especially if you like neutral or brown-based colors. I don't like Bare Study, it's too shimmery. I wouldn't use Shroom or Ricepaper as a base, I think you need something creamy and they're powdery.

I am a HUGE fan of Groundwork. It looks so gorgeous as a base for neutral day looks or smokey night looks! Try using it with Romp on top or Clue on top for a night look. I also am a huge fan of using naked lunch as a highlighter on people. It suits as it's not too shimmery for a highlighter. Also try cork in the crease of the eye and liners such as Duck or Grey Utility! :0)
