1. how do you use mixing medium/water base?
2. can mac glitter be applied to your lashes?

1. I usually put 1 or 2 drops into the cap of my pigment. Get a little pigment on your brush & mix the 2 items together. Some people even do a very thin layer of mixing medium on the eye & then add shadows on top.

2. Mac glitter is not eye safe. That being said, people do it all the time. It's very uncomfortable getting into your eye, but if you don't mind it, you can do whatever works for you

I usually use the mixing medium (water based) on the back of my hand - but in exactly the same way MACATTAK described

I use the eyeliner medium slightly differently though - I usually mix the glitter/pigment in the medium then apply.

As for glitters, they definitely arent listed as eyesafe, but then neither are lodas of the pigments - I use them anyway...LOL!! Yes glitter can be applied to lashes - make sure you use the "eyelining" mixing medium for this and a clean mascara wand, this particular medium has a thick base and dries clear - it will ensure that your glitter sticks to your lashes with very little fallout (unless you rub them).

MAC has a LASH mixing medium. I used to use it with my Dark Soul pigment to make some shimmery/glittery mascara. It worked pretty well.

I use a drop or two of the mixing medium on the back of my hand, then dip my brush into it to make it damp, then I dip my dampened brush into my pigments and apply (this intensifies the color and makes it stick better).

I believe a lot of the glitters are not eye safe (as mentioned already) - A friend of mine got a terrible irritation and swollen eye once because the glitter got into her eyes. But I do it anyways...guess I'll learn my lesson one of these day lol. But you can apply your mascara and before it dries, dab on the glitter or use the lash mixing medium that MAC has.

I definitely wouldn't apply MAC Glitter to eyelashes, you could use Make Up For Ever's Diamond Powder, it's a lot safer and guaranteed to shine.
