Under eye foundation/conceler catcher. Help!

Okay, so I'm 37 which means the lines are beginning to form. I have one crease under my eye which always seems to catch the concealer, no matter how light I go.

I've tried the prep and prime to 'fill' in but that doesn't seem to help. Anyone have any tips on how to lighten that area without filling up the cracks there?

Koren on ENCORE has a tutorial on concealing facial lines - I've tried it and it works well. Essentially you use a concealer that's a shade lighter than your normal concealer right in the 'line', and then a concealer a shade or two darker (than your normal concealer) down either side of the line, and then blend them together lightly with a sponge. The light reflects off of the line and it appears diminished.

I don't have the link handy, but I'm sure you can go to his channel on YouTube to find it (that's how I found it to begin with).

Part of it is the fact that the area around the eyes moves so much. That coupled with the fact that the skin around the eyes will show the first signs of aging around our age.

Studio Finish is too thick for me. I like Select cover up or Moisturecover if you are going with MAC. Moisturecover is really moisturizing and amazingly pigmented. I set it with a dusting of MUFE HD powder or Laura Mercier Brightening Powder so it won't get creasy or cakey.

Another good concealer is the Cargo HD concealer. It has an amazing texture. Check it out at Sephora.

Really, there will always be a bit of creasing due to the area, but the formulas and application help. I think the keys are to:

1. Keep the under eye area moisturized
2. Use a concealer that has a thin, fluid formula and set it with a HD-type powder
3. Wear glasses or sunglasses (as needed) to minimize squinting which creases the skin around the eyes
4. Consider carrying a bit of eye cream around in your bag. Halfway through the day, apply it and redo your concealer and powder. Your eyes will be refreshed and happy.

PS - MUFE has a new HD concealer that sounds promising. I haven't tried it yet, but would definitely give it a shot.

Thanks for all your input, I'll check out some of the products you recommend. And it's nice to know there are other beauty freaks out there my age. Seems like a lot of the gals I know are just tired of trying. So sad. I have such fun with my makeup!

I have the same problem and the only concealer I can use is Select Moisturecover by Mac. Be sure to use an NW shade, even if you're an NC in foundation.
