using paint as a base

so i've seen lots of ppl use either stilife, bare canvas, or untitled as a base for their eyeshadow application, and i was wondering which one would actually work best for me? i have pretty dark eyelids compared to the rest of my face (thanks to being middle eastern). i'm afraid that if i get bare canvas it'll look weird cuz i'm darker, but if i use stilife it'll make my eye shadow, especially bright colors, seem darker or something:confused:.

i was also wondering if i could use the 182 kabuki for blush application? i think it's supposed to be for powders, but it seems like such a good investment. would the 182 not be practical for blush? is there another blush brush that i should really use?

i can't help with the kabuki brush question, but what about Bamboom or Sublime Nature for the paint - those are darker shades.

i'm c4 in studio fix (nc300 in hyper real foundation) and a MAC MUA recommended Bamboom - it was ok for me. i still got creasing, and i hate how the paint oozes...i had to make sure to cap it right away. damn, never knew that was good for b2m...i think i threw it out when i was done.

I use Bamoom too.
Oh 182 is the best brush that I have.
I use it to set my powder.
It's fabulous.
Smooth application...it's super great.
I have 169 for blush. It has the perfect angle for blush application.

i'd go w/ some of the other paint colors suggested above (bamoom, architecture, etc.) i've never tried any of them personally -- but i can tell you that i use bare canvas (i'm a c35) and attempted to apply it to one of my girlfriends that is darker complected the other day. yup, it does look kinda weird, almost ashy. i'd definitely go with a darker shade. hth!

on the brushes - i wouldnt use a kabuki for blush b/c you don't hve that much control when you're using a kabuki as compared to a blush brush where you can choose xactly where to apply the blush. i use the 129

I own bare canvas and stilife. Bare Canvas is not that shimmery so it just gives a foundation that is very plain, whereas, I find that Stilife is very shimmery so what you put over it comes out with a very shimmery and glowy look as well. I personlly love Stilife!

I also LOVE my 182 brush. I use it sometimes for blush apps, but i tend to apply my blush with the 129(blush brush) or 188(stippling brush) and then buff with the 182. It blends and gives an AMAZING finished look. It is one that I use daily.

about kabuki brush, i know thats for if u want a lot of powder colour because its very condensed. i learnt this yesterday. if u have a retractable powder brush, if u only pull down the metal thing half way ur powder brush now becomes kabuki brush!
