Using shimmery/iridescent products with somewhat enlarged pores

Does anyone have any tips or recommendations on using shimmery or iridescent products when you have kind of enlarged pores? I really love that luminous, glowy look and maybe it's just not meant for me. The only place I have somewhat larger pores is on my cheeks right near my nose. It's not a big area on my face but it seems like any time I use something even slightly shimmery on my cheeks, it starts looking too shiny. I recently bought the Bobbi Brown coral shimmerbrick and I also really wanted to try out one of the NARS multiples so I bought Luxor to use as a pretty highlighter and I just think it looks off when using it but only b/c of the iridescence/shimmer. I'm an NC20ish who is mostly dry/sensitive in cold weather and a tiny bit oily in the tzone/sensitive in summer. I don't like the feel of foundation so I generally always use powder foundation or tinted moisturizer and as of right now I don't use a primer as I am trying to decide which one would be best to use. Does anyone else have this problem or any tips for this? Am I possibly not putting the products on correctly or would a primer help with the pores? I'm also curious on some products to help with reducing the pores. I've tried Clinique's Pore Minimizer and broke out from it and I am currently using Philosophy's Help Me retinol cream which has significantly helped with the feel and texture of my skin but I don't see that it's helped with the appearance of the pores much. Help!!

I have the same problem too. I tried applying the prep and prime refine zone on my nose and cheeks and it kind of did help as it lasted for 5+ hours without enlargine my pores.

I also try to put my shimmery produt only on the outer cheek bone which helps a bit but doesn't eliminate it them completely.

Dr. Brandt's pores no more pore refiner is what I use and it's pretty effective if you want to wear shimmery products. It's a bit expensive though.

Another thing I do is just use my concealer to hide my pores when applying anything shimmery.

I like Guerlain's Meteorites. The shimmers are so fine that the glow is super subtle and won't be affected by my large pores!

I've had my eye on this for awhile now... Seeing as it would be a huge splurge for me to buy this, is it worth it? I've only read somewhat mixed reviews.

If you only have small pores to cover, I don't think it is worth it since concealer will do the same job.
I think it's worth it if you have large pores that are still visible when you apply makeup, or even if you like to go days without any makeup on but your large pores are preventing you. I do this a lot, just put on the Dr. Brandt's stuff and nothing else.
