Vampire Makeup

I'm going to a Vampire-themed party. Any recommendations for makeup? I'm looking mostly for specific drugstore-type product recommendations. Also, should I do both a dramatic eye as well as red lips, or is that tacky? If I do both, or even just the lips, what would be a great lipstick? Thanks guys!

dramatic eyes and red lips are ideal for a vampire-theme party.

go pale, pale, pale for your skin, and try Maybelline Amethyst or Night Sky with lots of black eyeliner and mascara. the Revlon "Just Bitten" lip stain would be a perfect red.

have fun!

I did an FOTD for a vampire (Selene from Underworld) awhile ago.

Okay... I used a white powder over my normal foundation (Blood Mary's Goth Powder, they sell it at Hot Topic) to "pale out" my skin but still looked natural.

Next, I used no blush. None. Nada.

Then, I was trying to look unnaturally perfect, so I used bare canvas paint (primarily) to acheive that look, along with Strange Hybrid l/s for a high frost like the character has.

In comparison, the novel Lost Souls, by Poppy Z. Brite, describes vapires and vampire wannabes ("Deathers") as wearing sanother forumanother forumanother forumged black liner and dark purple lipstick. Which I think would look cool and striking

Anyways, think "undead" and have fun!!!

Oh, and no, it's not tacky for both eyes and lips.

Vampire makeup is awesome! I like Prestige lipsticks for this (rich colours, and it's cheap). They have red lipsticks. Tha last time I went as a vampire, I used really deep berry red (Prestige Beet lipstick). Sinful colours is also good.

You have to remember that vampires are meant to look like the living dead. Not ugly undead, but beautiful graceful undead.

And I don't understand the dark red lips. I think that's a horrible stereotype.

I would think pale, almost transluscent skin with barely visible veins, pale lips, shadowy eyes and very noticeable eyes.

I think red lips and a smoky eye would be a lovely look. It wouldn't be too over the top to do the two together, especially with a well blended eye. I hope you have fun at your party.

Underworld or Cyber lipstick, pale makeup dusted with babypowder, and a few of MAC's really dark violet and purple eye shadows, black Kohl liner-and don't even think about blush. The Undead would not have read lips, they would be more bluish or purplish.

Being that they're mythical creatures, I think a little leeway is fine. I mean, look at this guy:

Again, if vampires wanted red lips, they could goto CVS just like the rest of us. :p

As for recs, I'd go with something smodlering about the eyes; depending on your eye color, go with something that will make them just pop and hypnotize.

Whoever said Revlon's Just Bitten would be a good idea, I second that.
