Vanilla or Your Ladyship Pigment for highlighting?

I'm off to MAC tonight, and am stuck between 2 pigments, Vanilla and Your Ladyship.

Which one is better for highlighting the face, for example cheekbones and temples? I know lots prefer Vanilla, but the description of Your Ladyship (creamy white with gold pearl) sounds a lot more face-friendly than the ivory of Vanilla. The pictures of them look very similar so it adds to my confusion!

Which should I choose?

ETA: or should I just go with MACs highlighter, Belightful Iridescent Powder? From the site, it seems to be a happy medium...

Your Ladyship definately has a more pronounced gold pearl that really stands out when light hits it. Whereas, for me at least, vanilla was a little more subdued.

However, I am a highlighter junkie (among many things

) so I feel you can never have too many highlighters (I own about 8). If you're still not sure, I think buying some samples of each might help make your decision.

Hope this helps!

get samples of each and see what you prefer. I prefer vanilla because it doesn't blend in into my skin where's your ladyship would blend in.

I have both. I find that Your Ladyship stands out more against my face. But I also have Vanilla because there are days when I prefer a more subdued shimmer... in terms of usage, I find that I reach for Vanilla more. The light shimmer it gives is really great for those days when I want dark dark purple on my eyes and bright red on my lips... my cheeks and other parts of my face need to stand out less on those times.

I haven't tried Your Ladyship yet, but I do have Vanilla and I love that it gives a natural-looking glow.

They are both gorgeous, but vanilla is still my fav pigment hightlighter - it's subdued yet gives your skin a beautiful glow (and multi-dimensional too - your get different translucent goldish-pinkish colors under the light).

I find that Your Ladyship, when blended, leaves a lot of stray glittery particles, which makes your skin more glittery, and not as naturally glowly...lol does that make sense?
HTH!

vanilla def will give a more natural glow whereas your ladyship will have a tad more of a glitter appearance (as does the highlighter pressed powder because it has 3 different size glitter particles for more dimension)

If you can wait for an amazing highlighter, I would wait for the sculpting powders =)

I have Vanilla, and it's a fine highlighter, but I tried Your Ladyship on my browbones and cheeks and it was GORGEOUS.

I only hope I'm still able to get it on the site by tomorrow, since that's when I'll have the money to buy it. I'd be really sad if all I ever had was this sample.

I agree with nunu. Get a sample of both, that way you can decide which one you prefer. I like both for different occassions.

Haha, well, they're both useful in their own way!

I usually put some Fix + in a small spray bottle (I think it's a 3 or 4oz. bottle), mixed with like 1/4 tsp. of Vanilla. It gives a nice subtle glow.

I might try it with Your Ladyship as well, once I get it.
