Vanity Brush Set - A Good Investment?

I'm considering getting some new brushes, and I happened upon this particular set looking around online. It comes w/ 7 brushes (and some faux fur wrap which I really don't give a care about really.) On their site it runs for $150. I'm not really familiar with the quality of their products, but after reading some stuff on here, I'm open minded (except for the gel liners.)

Is this a good investment you think, or would I just be overspending for a set with a fur wrap? Are there any other sets from other brands that are more cost effective but of a similar or higher quality?

Thanks in advance.

If its the one by Smashbox, I've seen the set & it's gorgeous!

I recommend this set by @design Brushes. Usually sells for $250. It's 18 brushes + a fabulously fashionable brush roll. Every brush style in their line and a kabuki.

Here's a link.

Brush roll is on the same page and sells for $50.

Here's a pic!

Here's a link to the thread I started in hauls the day I ordered the set.

I have used several of these professionally and they are exceptional quality. You can't beat this deal for brushes this good.

Oh snap! Thanks, NaturalSister! I still want to pick up that arched Smashbox liner brush though.

Anyone else care to weigh in?

you can always wait for the holiday brush sets to come out during the winter...most high end brands have great prices on those and great brushes. i especially like bobbi browns and trishmcevoy.

Yeah, I was thinking about that too. I think I'm definently going to invest in that aDesign's set though; the Smashbox vanity set would be good for...myself.

I am going to have to get the angled liner brush. That would be perfect for me. I will be going to Smashbox today to check it out. Yeah.

Although I don't own the Vanity Brush Set I do have the Face & Body Brush #19, and it is absolutely fabulous. It was pricey, but it is the best brush I own. I plan on buying more Smashbox brushes in the near future. I definitely think the Vanity Brush Set would be a good investment.

Not sure whats out there now, but a couple years ago there were two different Too Faced brush sets available. One came in a pink satin case and the other in a faux leopard fur case. I got both sets and I have to say that my Too Faced brushes rival my MAC ones! Both make excellent quality brushes.

Yeah, I saw that too! They also sold their retractable lip brush, which I bought recently, after I fell in love with their new kabuki. <3

The "Teddy Bear Hair Se"t" in the metallic pink case? Those are actually very nice quality, durable brushes. They deliver color evenly and can withstand daily washings without a problem!

I felt these at Sephora, and they felt very stiff, although they are pretty, there are much better quality brushes (like Sephora Professional) for the money.

Hi Everyone, I am new here, so firstly Hi :)
I am in Australia, so unfortunately we don't have as much choice. I have also been looking at 'Smashbox' brushes, I found some on ebay, the 'Rodeo Brighton', 6 peice brush set. Has anyone seen, felt or used these?
Any help would be fantastic.

I adore that arched liner brush from smashbox! I can't imagine using anything else now for fluidlines or smashbox's gel liners!
