Viz-a-Violet...Yes or No?

Girls, I need your help...I´m a sucker for purples, but I still can´t decide if I should buy Viz-a-violet p/m. I´m going to give some extra info, so you can see what my doubt is about:
The swatch from the MAC site seems inconclusive to me, it looks very similar to Violet p/m (I don´t like Violet Pigment, the color looks bright without giving any depth); the swatch session from Specktra didn´t help either, Viz-a-violet looks so light, lavender-like in the photos...So, I guess my question is: Should a girl who likes mid-tone to dark purples get Viz-a-violet? Does it really turn lavender on skin? I´d really appreciate any comment!

It's pretty light on me. If you like them dark, it's probably not a color you want or need.
Though, maybe wet, or with mixing medium, it might be a nice light purple.

I think it's gorgeous, the only downside is that you kinda have to pack it on.. =/ other than that though, I think it's nice. But considering you like darker purples, idk if you would like it much...

i'd say no. it was disapointing for me. it isnt like any other pigs, but its very blah and matteish. the texture and pay off arent very good. i'd say buy a sample first to test it out

Thank you all, girls, for your insights! I´m struggling to get a sample, but I don´t think it´s going to be possible. Anyway, I think I might pass on this one — but now at least I´m more convinced that I´m not going to miss anything spectacular...

Yes, I would pass this one on - it was pretty dissapointing to me, just a lighter and pastier version (even kind of matte) of violet piggie (which I love), perhaps with not as much blue duochrome as the violet. I belive a whole jar of it would be a little to much, so still see if you can get a sample of it

If you want a vibrant purple colour, trust me on this combination:

Apply Macroviolet fluidline all over the lid and then Satellite Dreams eyeshadow above. You’ll be amazed with the effect.

I actually like all my colors to pop, especially purples because I do love purple eyeshadows. My personal preference is to stay away from those light colors like lavender, unless its to highlight or something
Two ok maybe three suggestions. If you can make it to a MACPRO store, I would recommend Pigments in French Violet or Grape. Now Sephora has an excellent Matte purple as well. I think its number #0092. I like to stick to Matte purples if I want the color to pop.

If you don't like Violet I don't think you'll like Viz-A-Violet. It's tamer than the perm. piggie and as others have said, you have to pack it on to show.

The similarities to Violet pigment is quite close and if you didn't like Violet pigment, chances are you wouldn't like this one too.

Personally, I say no. I love violet and viz-a-violet looks like a gloomier, greyish-dulled down version of it. The texture is not as great, and the color isn't too unique either.
