Wax Hair Removal

Hello ladies,

Since we share so much, I just have to say I went to a new aesthetician last Friday and she's awesome. I get my underarms and bikini (brazilian) areas waxed. I'm a once-a-month girl. I've been getting waxed for a little over a year and the results are awesome. I imagine soon I may not have to go as often as once a month. When you find a great aesthetician its just awesome. Gone are the five-oclock underneath my arms - blech to shaving.

Just wanted to share.

I agree, when you find the right aesthetician, waxing is soooo much more preferable to shaving. I have my legs, bikini area, upper lip, brows, arms, and underarms waxed. I only have to go once a month (less for bikini area and legs) now and it just feels a lot better. Like, there's no stubble and I think my skin feels more supple since I don't take away moisture by shaving.

Ditto! I have an appointment tomorrow: legs, bikini, underarms.
I've been waxing for about 14 years, no razor has touched me since I saw the light!!! I love that when the hair grows back there's no stubble, yuck.
Eventually you'll grow less hair and there are even areas that don't grow anymore.

I have to agree the results are awesome. I have an app. for a bikini wax on wednesday and although it is not my first time I can't help it but be a little nervous...the pain is awful

I cant wax because for me it is just a waste of money my hair grows back within 3 days of waxing and when my hair does grow back from anything is very painful so it just sucks bacause i cant really do anything for hair removal

I recently got a Bikini wax at a cosmetic store salon and the waxer ripped my skin off!!!! It was so painful and irritated. She said I was too sensitive and that's why it had happened. I disagree! I have gotten several bikini waxes over the years and have never had my skin ripped off! She still charged me full price for it. I was so dissatisfied (my skin was raw and chafed so badly....very unattractive!) that I called the store manager and complained. She refunded my money- which was very nice of her.

I'm glad you got a refund, your skin should not be ripped off, maybe the wax was too hot or they didn't apply enough powder before the wax, but look for a new place.

You may have been too sensitive----to her particular wax. But she should've known that (with a skin analysis, client profile chart, or at least a couple questions) and she could've prevented it.

Oh my goodness! That's horrible. I'm glad you were refunded, albeit it was a bad experience. I've gone to two aestheticians and I've always had a comfortable experience. I firmly believe, the aesthetician, plays a huge role in how your experience will turn out. I was completely nervous, panick-stricken at my first appointment, and I didn't flinch. I talked, and still do, the whole time. I hope you are able to find someone/salon that can take better care of you next time.

Ok, I just got back from my appointment...all I gotta say is WTF!!! The "aesthetician" did not know what she was doing. This was not my first time doing a bikini wax, but it was at that place, I know that they are suppose to hold your skin taut and pull in the opposite direction, but no this lady puts on the wax and pulls UP without holding the skin...ouch!!! She sucked. I didn't let her finish I just paid her to do half of what I originially wanted and left...back to looking for a better place.
