wedding advice:)

Hello girls,

This is my first post and I'm already looking for an advice. My wedding is coming up and I am trying to figure out what foundation to use. I already bought Hyperreal foundation, NW200 (I matched myself, it looks good, not sure if this is the best fit, but I plan to have a tanned skin until then, and as a result the foundation may be a little lighter than what I hoped for). I am looking to buy another foundation (if not, I will use my Clinique superbalanced foundation ( 05 vanilla, which looks good on my tanned skin and blends well). I am not really happy with the Hyperreal, because I think it doesn't blend too well, it does not cover too well (I used moisturizer, but I still think the foundation tightens my skin). I don't have major problems with my skin, it's dry and right now I have two small pimples

I don't have a MAC counter near me so I have to do it online.

My questions are:
1) what foundation to use for my dry skin and possibly tanned until then? Also, I need a good to medium coverage. I have to consider the fact that I'm the bride so the foundation should last and it should be transfer resistent. What other MAC foundations are suitable for dry skin?
2) What foundation color should I pick?
3) If I stay with Hyperreal NW 200, will it be okay to darken the color with a bronzing powder? Or, should I get a darker color (I was thinking NW400, hope it's similar to 05 Vanilla Clinique )
4) I really like J.Lo nude lips. What should I use? I bought prolongwear lipcolor clingpeach (it's very similar to the color of my lips)

I have three pictures:
1) no makeup
2) makeup and tan with other products
3) makeup I did with Mac products I bought. Oh, also the concealer is too white:))

Thanks

The best way to do foundation is to go to a store and get matched. If you don't have a MAC near you, I'd really suggest going to a counter you DO have near you - so you won't be wasting money. Wait until you are tan (right before the wedding) and go.

As for nude lips - don't do it! You will look super washed out and dead. Everything I've read says that wedding lips should be not nude.

Thanks, probably this is what I'll do, I'll wait and then go to a store.

I love nude lips because I don't normally wear any lipsticks, gloss..that is why I thought this would be a compromise

if you really want a nude lip - try Viva Glam 5 - it has more pigment than the peach pro-long wear and will look good with your colouring.

and i'd skip the tan...

i like how your skin looks in picture #3 - you have a nice glow to your skin. (#2 looks a tad orange to me)

i agree, wait until you are at your desired tan color then go get matched. i went the night before my engagement party (starting to lose the tan i got from my aruba vacation) and the MA matched me to NC300 and since she knew i do tan easily, she made me a sample of NC400 to mix in when i get a bit darker.

don't go nude on the lips - a little pinky beige color since lips tend to have a slight pigment. going nude will looked too washed out.

hth!

what do you recommend? instead of hyperreal foundation?

I tried today dior sculpture, and I liked the consistency and it blends well. Is thsi foundation good for pictures?

Quite honestly? I don't like any of the MAC foundations.

If you want a medium-to-full coverage foundation I recommend Make Up For Ever's Matte Velvet + (for a classical buildable matte finish) or their Lift Foundation (very moisturizing if your skin is feeling a tad dry).

Matte Velvet + photographs beautifully.

Mac Face & Body foundation (C shades for golden undertones and N shades for red undertones) You can build up in light layers to get the coverage you want and then dust a sheer powder like the Mineralize natural powder shades.

Face & Body also photographs well for your wedding pictures and isn't transferrable.

I know that Myth lipstick is one of Jlo's favourites!!
