Wedding makeup??

I am getting married in Antigua in February 2012 on the beach. I am wearing a simple very pretty flowy long chiffon dress. I think I am going to wear my hair down with soft curls. There is a spa at the resort where I can get my make-up done. However I don't love when other people do my makeup and I don't know the makeup artist so i'm not sure if I want to do that. If I do my own makeup what would my best bet be for soft pretty colors, makeup that will photograpf well and make it thru the heat and humidity?? I am very fair with very blonde almost platinum hair and light blue eyes. Thanks in advance for any advice!!

I like the look in this tutorial from Makeup Geek. It's a little dramatic, but it's still very soft and might work for your wedding.
