What a pain....[pic heavy]

I want to cut my hair/ dye it...brown is really...not me? I mean, i miss my less-than-normal colours and i'm most definitely going to bleach/dye it, but the cut is what i'm undecided on..

real quick question:
why are you getting a haircut tens of thousands of other people have? :/

So I can see you want something trendy and different. Those cuts you posted I feel don't have a good shape/structure to them. Your face shape seems to be oval maybe heart shaped. Your hair seems a little thin so those haircuts will make your hair look thinner since they need lots of short layers especially around the crown.

A more structured cut with layers and unexpected shapes would look better and fun. Like have a simple overall shape but then an asymetrical fringe. When little things are unexpected they make the cut more fun. So think of straight and asymetrical shapes with clean cuts and not too shattered/razored.

Think of something along these lines: http://www.ukhairdressers.com/style/...1&styl1=Farouk

These cuts are hell to grow out. They're very high maintenance, too. But its all up to you, hun.

Yeah, I love the haircuts. They are really cute. I would get mine cut if it weren't for the point Julia raised. They are hell to maintain. They are also hell to grow out. But if neither of those are an issue go for it. I love the cut the Asian girl with the jet black hair has.

Because she obviously likes them, do you have a hair cut that nobody else in the world has? People ask for side swept fringes which tens of thousands of other people have also.

Oh and I think the second style down is cute, would suit your face and I dont think it would be too difficult to grow out?

It doesn't matter how many people have a haircut. I too fuss about this but really it comes down to whether the cut works with a person's features.

These cuts are basically variations of a common cut known as a shag. Out of all the pics the fourth is probably best for you face shape and hair texture. The changes I would make though would be that the shortest layers should be about ear length. Too short and it'll make your hair look almost feathery since your hair doesn't look too thick.

Something like this is closest to what you want:

The layers are not too short but there's still a lot of texture. It all depends on how you style it.

As for a fringe you can work one like the picture I posted or side swept, asymetrical, etc. Since your face shape is between heart shaped and oval you can basically pull of any fringe.

I realize it's a cut that a lot of people have, but I like them mainly because of the layers and texture and because I dye my hair so often less bleach and less hair dye haha. My hair isn't really thin it's medium-thick but i do straighten my hair a lot, almost daily. Thank you for the face shape help (face shapes don't make sense to me..too many 'in-betweens') and high maintenance? as in time it would take to style? or dealing with damaged hair?

They're hard to maintain because the style kind of goes against the hair's natural pattern, and it requires time to make it look that way.

So you're probably better off with a shag then like the last pic you posted and the pic I posted. Since your hair is medium thick you could work in more short layers around the crown if you'd like but I still think the shortest layers at ear length would suite you better.

The issue about the cut being high maintanence is mainting the overall shape. Since a shag consists of a lot jagged layers it grows out quite well that is if the overall length is even. But in pictures 1 and 3 you posted those are hard to grow out because of the very short layers around the grown and the overall asymetrical shape. But if you opt for a simple shag like your fourth picture it grows out quite well.

However, if you want to maintain the style you have to get a trim every 6-7 weeks and to maintain a fringe a trim every 3-4 weeks.

Styling is easy since it's a messy style already. If you're lazy and your hair is straight you can let it dry naturally with some product. You can straighten it, curl it, etc.

I like the second pic - it'll be the easiest to grow out and you'll still be able to pull it back messy when you don't want to deal w/it

I love these cuts, over done or not. I think they are awesome. I'm just not brave enough to go that short. Last time I cut my hair (about two months ago, I'm overdue for a trim/cut) I went in witha picture of a cut I liked, told her to keep it a little longer than the cut in the pic and it was perfect. Only thing was that it cut like 5 inches of hair! My boyfriend was wayyyy surprised but he loved it.

Now...only if I can get some guts up again...

I've looked at it again. I think the second one would look nice on you if the layers - well, basically the cut itself, was longer.
