What can I do to help my skin?

I have combination skin. It looks very shiny and quite red. I get blemishes on my cheeks, nose and chin. Currently I just wash my face with soap which seems to help. I also use body shop tea tree oil facial foaming wash a few times a week (it's my boyfriends). I want to achieve a less shiny, more matte look and try and get rid of redness. Any ideas?

The only thing that has ever helped to clear my skin is Neutrogena Skin Id, you have to order it online but it really works. For the redness I always use Smashbox primer in green and that helps to cancel it out. I also put just a little bit of a matte primer on my oily spots, hth
This is the link to Skin Id, you answer a lot of questions and then they put together a system tailored to ur needs.

I would try to find a cleanser for oily blemish-prone skin (over drying oily skin will actually have the opposite effect you want) and then I would find a good toner.....
an awesome spot treatment is Origins spot remover. I seriously use it on a pimple, and it's gone in the morning.

I think that the best thing you can do for your skin is use a gentle exfoliator. This will clear blockages and make your skin look healthier. As you are prone to redness, I think you should be really careful when you do it so as not to upset your skin and make it redder.
