What colors go with... and brush question?

What colors do you recommend using with either Big T and Firespot? Maybe also show swatches with the colors?

As well, where could I get some reasonably priced brushes? I only own two, and one of them sucks.

This should probably be in the Recommendations section.

I think Big T goes very nicely with Carbon actually. Big T on the lid with Carbon blended on the crease.

Firespot looks fabulous with Cranberry in my opinion.

Hmmm brushes... the only brushes I use are MAC, and they may be too pricey for you? You could if you want look around at Outlets that carry MAC. You may be able to find the Patternmaker or Formal Black brush sets. They were around 30 or 40 each, and should be marked down 10 or 15 bucks. I recently found the Patternmaker brush and makeup bag set for 33 marked down from 46 I think. Also try eBay. And I've also heard great things about Sephora brushes.

I did a really dramatic eye on a friend the other day for a photo shoot using Firespot with Cosmic and Coppering, with Stubborn Brown liner pencil and Molten Sol liquid liner. (I attached a picture . . . not the best, but you get the idea)

I haven't bought Big T yet, but I suspect it might look nice with the teal pro pallet or Chrome Yellow.

i buy brushes at the craft store!

the best ones for applying eye shadow are Maxine's Mop by Loew-Cornell. they come in 1/2 and 1/4 sizes and i LOVE them!

they are natural bristle, cost less than $5 when you get them on sale and i have 4 of each size at that price!

rouquinne which craft store do you go to? Do you think I can find those in Michaels? Oh and which size would you suggest for eyeliner?

janine, i did get those at Michael's - they have Loew-Cornell on sale about once a month.

for eye liner, use an angular shader similar to the MAC 266 brush - with firm bristles that will hold their shape.
