I had to take a CPR course for my old job. I blatently told the manager that even though I'm certified, I'd call 911 b4 putting my mouth to one of our employees. lol

I've taken a CPR class for this job and during the class, they have these dummies hooked up to lights that tell you how hard you're pushing on the ribcage (I think yellow was too light, green was good, and red was breaking a few ribs). I kept it at red the entire time (couldn't get it right) and now I have this little face mask that I'm supposed to carry around at all times. Is it in my bag? Nooo...

Oh, and one of the nurses at my job told me that honestly CPR works only a little bit of the time (I think she quoted 8% or something incredibly low) because more than half the people are doing it wrong.

I think it's great that people are learning CPR - I think everyone should. I used to practise it a lot and even taught basic and advanced life support but all my certificates have lapsed. It wouldn't stop be being able to help someone with a cardiac or respiratory arrest though.
