What do you do now, that you never thought you would?

This is basically a "How have you changed" in recent years, especially things that you never thought you'd do or wear and what not.
I'll start.

1) I used to hate brown. I never wore brown clothes or owned brown shoes or bags. In the past two years, I have really grown to love the color brown, and in most cases I choose brown over black nowadays.

2) I said I would always part my hair down the middle. I always wore it that way and said I would never wear a side part. Well, as fate may have it in the past few weeks I have been wearing my hair parted to the left! And I like it. Alot!

3) I used to never wear eyeliner. Never, Never Ever. Now, I'm playing with it more and learning to really like it. It does bring out your makeup and make it look more polished.

That's all I can think of now...so, it's your turn?

(Mods, feel free to move this if need be

i used to say i would never wear brighter color makeup... i thought it all looked clownish... but then i saw so many great looks with brighter colors that i fell in love!!!

i used to see my cousin (who had a huge collection of mu) and i swore i would never spend hundreds of dollars on makeup... there went that one...

Me too! Man, I forgot that one! I used to wear big bulky clunker shoes. Either wedges or heals with round or square toes, but really wide, like clown shoes. Now I too, only love pointy shoes, especially flats!! And I thought I'd never wear flats...now I never wear heals!

Things Id never wear:
I said Id never wear polo shirts or anything the was remotely similar to my old highschool uniform again...and I wear polos a ton now.

I said Id never wear anything but shimmery white eyeshadow because nothing else made me look awake...that was in highschool also and now I wear all kinds of stuff!

Things Id never do:
Quit smoking
Get married
Buy a house
Have kids

Ive done all of those except have kids!! And that will have to wait

Comfortable shoes (like Rockport, Easy Spirit), actually I still can’t believe it although this year I purchased 2 pairs of Rockport sandals and a pair of pumps from Aerosoles.

Blue eye shadow.

Cosmetics with shimmer.

1) Say to my child "Because I am the parent and I can, that's why" when he complains about any groundings or things I ask him to do. I hated when my parents told me that but just the other day it fell out of my mouth.

2) I never wanted to own a home. I was always happy with paying rent and when things broke it was someone else that fixed it. Now, here I sit in my own home. It's amazing what you will do to make others happy.

3) Be afraid of driving. I always loved to drive. Now I freak out on the freeway.

I never thought I'd live in London which I do now and I never thought I'd train as a makeup artist, let alone do a M·A·C course!

That too! I had this insane English teacher in middle school who wore the brightest blue eye shadow all the way up to her pencil thin eyebrows, red lipstick, and screamed like a banshee. I think I own at least 4 now??

Hmm...

Cut my hair very short. I had it past my bum a while back. It's now just below shoulders as opposed to as short as you can get without shaving it.

WEAR MAKEUP!!! Yes, it's a shout. I was so anti-makeup you'd burn me alive had you met me then *grin*. My finding makeup and 'girl' stuff has definitely made my life a happier one.

Please do not be offended by my next one: be sexually active. I never thought anyone would like me enough or find me attractive to even want to see me naked.

Get naked in front of another person.

Cry over a significant other.

Eat raw fish.

Entertain the notion of having children. I still stick to my original idea of not having any, but on some rare occasions, I find the idea much more agreeable than I ever thought I would.

Have a nervous breakdown. Thought it only happens to geniuses and similar such ilk.

Lastly, never thought I'd end up doing writing as a serious pursuit, or learning the musical instrument that I now play. I'd never even heard of it before uni.

What I never thought I would do...

1) Say to my child "Because I am the parent and I can, that's why"

OMG! I always swore I would never say that! Another one, "Because I said so..." I hate that phrase, but am guilty of saying it to my daughter.

Another thing, I swore that I would never have kids at an early age, but here I am with a seven year old and I am twenty-seven... Wouldn't change it for the worls though, she is the light of my life.

I thought I would never wear Orange eyeshadow....

I still don't wear pointy shoes (I own a pair, but they hurt like hell!!)

I never thought I would be loved by someone like my boyfriend, a sweet understanding person that loves me for the nut I am!
I never thought that I would find someone that not only loves me, but I am DEEPLY in love with him too!

I would never thought that I would be interested in working for MAC

1. I wear and like pink. I still love black, but I've branched out into other colors now.

2. I adore makeup and am not embarassed to be girly. (For years, I literally only had two or three eyeshadows and one lipgloss.)

3. As bad as things might get sometimes, I am a very lucky girl with a wonderful life.

4. That my parents are remarkable human beings, even though they drive me nuts sometimes.

5. That I have a choice about who is in my life, and I choose to surround myself with positive, supportive, loving friends.

6. That even though I had to wait a long time for my boyfriend and I to find each other, I am so grateful we did, and I love more every day. (Good God, you people are making me all mushy

)

7. That the universe doesn't owe anyone anything. Life can be tough and cruel and unfair, so work hard for what you want and appreciate what you've got.

I'm more of a "what do I NOT do anymore that I used to do" girl...LOL

I don't smoke, drink, or do drugs...all of which I did from the age of about 12 until I was 21.

Things I never thought I'd do-- (many)
My biggie is Listen to country music- I used to make fun of people who listened to country music so bad when I was in HS up until a year and a half ago... then my baby sisters classmate finally got her album out Plug- Universal south- self titled Katrina Elam - gorgeous voice - very nice and disgustingly pretty girl- (Katrina Elam- she's new and toured with Keith Urban last year). She rode our school bus as kids and out of loyalty I bought her CD- then since she toured in Topeka- we got tickets and meet and greets from the fanclub to go say "hi" from hometown of Bray OK. So I had to of course pick up Keith Urban's album because I couldn't waist money on a concert that I didn't know any of the songs too and he just blew me away......Now I also love Gary Allan -

Other things.... well spend on makeup like I have this year, rediscover how much I really really love my new hobby and how comfortable it has made me become with myself. Read fashion magazines and make a half hearted attempt to be contemporary/trendy. OH and become a cosmetic snob- I've always loved high end but to really fall in love with lines like nars-mac- and anything not sold at walmart is neat.

Teach special education... Move three times in three years.... (why did I leave New Mexico?????)

Wear Blue and Orange Eyeshadows and wear lipstick/glass that looks good with my complexion vs constantly worrying about how my teeth might look.

I already am over that whole getting married at 18- pregnant at 19 and having three kids- I am proud of being with my hubby for over 10 years now our anniversary is Friday :)
