What do you do with an old product after you find a better one?

About a month ago I bought some NARS blushes (Outlaw, Torrid, and Taj Mahal) and I am hooked. No other blushes will ever compare. All the rest of the blush in my traincase is just taking up space. What do you do when you get a better product? Give it away, throw it away? What? Just wanted to know

if i bought a foundation that is better than the one i am currently using, i basically just throw out the old one.

I always tend to keep it. I can't bring myself to give it away. Sometimes I do toss it though.

Depending on the condition, I would sell them or maybe swap them on MUA?

Wet goods I toss, dry goods I pass on to friends and family. Some things I hang on to though, because I never know when I'll need them for work.

hehe.... i either try to use that particular product up as fast as i possibly can apply it onto my face to convince myself that i truely had finished it and so not wasting it... or i tell myself that its getting old, smelly, or just not working for me anymore so chuck it away..

Sometimes I want to throw things away but then I feel soooo guilty! I should really start swapping.

depends on the product.
i'll either pass it on to a friend of family member.
let it generate dust in my traincase.
or sell it on here or LJ if there's still a lot left and i think someone would want it.

I either just keep it (I figure ill use it someday lol) or I swap it or sell it on here or MUA

im really clean and neat so all of my orig makeup is in pristine condition... The only stuff in my traincase thats not is items that ive recieved in swaps

I tend to give it away no matter what it is. (but not eyeshadow though, you can always find a way to make that work)

I TRY to not buy a lot of stuff in the same catergory (loads of foundations, blush, lippies) unless I am almost out. I know I will just abandon my old stuff if I do. I just hate being wasteful. I have to stretch my cosmetic budget as far as it can go!

I give them to my sisters or, in frustration over space and clutter, I'll chunk it all when really I should probably trade. About a year ago (before I knew about trading make-up) I tossed drawers full of shadows and blushes - Dior, MAC, Chanel, Lancome, almost all of which are now discontinued...I could just smack myself! Some were still in boxes...

i keep it and use it on work days...

i have tons of makeup i barely use...

but one day i see it and go 'oooh' why did i stop using that!!

i forever do that with eyeshadows!

I can't bear to part with any of my make up, so i've just got a box of stuff that I don't use.

But I find other ways to use products, blushes are pretty easy since they're usually pink/red/brown. You can scrape some up and mix it with vaseline of melt a clear lip balm and add it. A lot of blushes make gorgeous lip colors. You can also just pat some on after using your lipstick, it just looks a little weird at first. Some of them you can also use as eyeshadows, and i guess you could make some into nail polish

I keep it....until my makeup bins overflow, and DH threatens to throw it ALL out until I pare it down. Then it's either up for swap, or I pitch it.

makeup doesn't last forever so there are times that you have to try them away.

Same here! Mythology- haven't used the sucker in MONTHS and I finally looked at it today and was all "Wow... it's perdy."
