What do you guys think? Too much of a good thing?

Hi Everyone,

I wanted some input on an issue that I've been thinking about for the past while.

I was one of those girls who "developed" early. I got my period in grade 5 ["wholly molly" says my Mom] and since then I've just...er...grown.

As of now I am just under 5"2 [1.58cm] and approximately 100lb, give or take a pound or two. And while most of my friends complained about not "filling in" their bras, I have 32D's. In short I have the tiniest rib-cage and um...very large boobies.

I have never felt -completely- at ease with the size of my breasts. I dont love sports but I mainly refrain from playing due to all the "jiggle" that goes on if I run or jump. Finding tops that fit is a nightmare because the rest of me is very thin/small compared to my boobs. And growing up, I've always tried to hunch a little to hide how large my boobs are because I feel a little shy walking straight backed and sticking them out there. Last but not least, I feel that they "sag" a little...dont get me wrong, I'm only 19yrs old but I dont feel like I have "perky and young" boobs, mine seem to hang a little lower than other ppls. Maybe it's the size that gravity drags them down a little?

What do you guys think? I have been looking into breast reduction as an option but then again I am terrified of going under the knife.

I can totally fathom why women undergo breast reduction surgery. Mine are more on the small side but am totally ok with that. I could totally see the cons to having big boobs on a small body, such as back pain, men making lewd comments, not being able to do sports as well, etc...

I'd think about it long and hard, maybe wait a few more years, and if you still really feel uncomfortable, then it's a path you could take. But this is only a decision you can make. Maybe also consult with people close to you, like family or friends, to get more feedback as well.

i have a few friends that have gone through reductions, and the general consensus among them is that it changed their lives.

i can totally understand wanting to do it and also being terrified of having to have surgery. my suggestion is to have a chat to a doctor about it - they can often discuss the procedure in more detail and answer your questions fully.

I'd just like to add that for the short term get some good bras. It will cost a little more but go to a bra shop and get properly fitted.

Wow you are about my size, but i have B cup boobs, i absolutely cannot imagine myself with D's, such a tiny frame with such large breasts.

If i imagined myself with D cup i would feel uncomfortable standing up straight as well and all the double looks that guys probably give you is uncomfortable.. your breasts probably attract the wrong sort of boys... Not including all the back aches, limited exercises, and difficulty trying to find decent clothing.

Sounds like you are seriously considering breast reduction, no one can tell you what to do but YOU. You are 19 years old but something like this can change your life (for the better hopefully so you gain more confidence in yourself). You need to carefully consider what size you want to be, a small C sounds good. No need to be afraid of going under the knife, it will be a little sore but it sounds like it will be worth it. Maybe you should go for a consultation at a reputable plastic surgeons office to clear up any questions or concerns you have.

good luck with your decision, and keep us updated!

I had Ds at 19. At 29, after 3 babies, I have DDs and like you, a tiny ribcage/waist supporting them. I am in the process of getting my paperwork in order to start petitioning my insurance for a reduction.

My only suggestion would be to think about waiting until after your child bearing days, if you intend to have children. If you don't, then move ahead now, you will not regret it.

I feel for you, I really do. I'm 1 cm taller than you, but I am REALLY tiny, I weigh about 94 pounds, and I have 28Fs. Oh, and I'm 17.
At age 12, I was already a D-cup.
I used to be soooo embarassed about it, because you really do get a lot of comments from people, both guys and girls. A lot of it is actually meant well, too, but I just hate getting attention for my damn boobies, it's not like that's all there is to me!

I second the comment about getting a good bra x4809289024892.
The bras I used to wear two years ago were MUCH to small for me, and it was uncomfortable and didn't look good. The thing was, though ... 28F bras are ridiculously hard to come by, and very expensive.
Luckily, my mom has the same problem as me, she's a 30F, and one day we decided: "Screw this, let's get some real bras!"
So we went on a bra-hunting adventure, all over town, and finally we found this really tiny store, which was new as well, and lo and behold, they actually carried a couple of bras our size! It makes such a difference, let me tell you.
No more double boob! I got a couple of minimizing bras, as well as some pretty ones. I don't have to be too concerned about extra support as of just yet, I'm still very young, but I know they carry good support bras as well, when I need it. The store is called La Senza. I don't know if it's a norwegian store or not though, sorry. But I've heard good things about figleaves.com - Bras, Panties, Swimsuits, and Full Figure Lingerie!

I've definitely had thoughts about breast reduction, but I really hate surgeries, so I don't know. I doubt I'll ever go through with it. I know it has helped a lot of girls tremendously though!

While I can relate to being a very unusual size, I celebrate my large chest rather than try to hide it. A lot of women pay for boobs, I am happy with what I have naturally.

I would advise you to talk to a dr about your concerns and to get their feedback. At 19 you are still growing into your adult body, if in a few yrs you still feel the same then you should go ahead and do whats best for you.

I am a 28 g/gg and I have had a lot of luck finding shops in ny that carry my size or will alter a 30 to my 28 back.

Bravissimo.uk is great too and they ship internationally

Hmm... i've never thought about the -having kids-part. Thanks for bringing this up. In this case, I should definitely think about what having kids will do to my body.

Oh yes! La Senza! Thank goodness I've found that store! And they often have bras on sale which is good. I just hope they made size 30...sometimes if I loose alittle weight then 30 is a better fit but the smallest they have is a 32.

As with everyone else, I would suggest investing in great, well-fitting bras. They cost more, but the foundation they provide for your clothing is unmatched and so important. A great base is the start to any wardrobe.

I used to work for a plastic surgeon and we did tons of breast reductions. As Stargazer mentioned, if you are planning on having children, you might want to wait. Also, keep in mind that there will be significant scarring.

Depending on your age, you might want to wait. Unless of course, they are causing severe physical issues such as hunchback, major dents in your shoulders from bra straps or severe discoloring/rashes underneath your breasts where they lie against your stomach. Most of the women we did the reductions for had already had their children and were ready.

Good luck to you and I hope you do whatever makes you happy!!

You're young, so you may change. I went from a 32D to a 32C by the work of nature, so you might go down in size. You might go up. If they aren't fun for your life (from what I gathered from larger friends, they have had major back problems), I'd look into getting something done.

I'd wait or at least talk to a responsible doctor before going under the knife.

I wouldn't be able to tell, 'cos I have small breasts, but I've been 'under the knife' before.

It was nothing to be scared of. The week after was unconfortable, but the results were worth it.

My bro's ex (now a good friend of mine) had a breast reduction when she was 16. She told me how miserable she felt being so short and having enormous boobs and how the surgery changed her self-esteem. She still has nice full breasts, but they go with her petit frame now.

IMO, surgery is worthy when the subject really bothers you or/and it's going to improve your health and self esteem.

i can totally relate. i'm 5'2 as well with 34DD. of course men like them but i could stand to lose a little. mainly because i feel they make me look bigger than what i am. BUT on the flip side, i've lost weight and i kind of like the big-boob-little-waist look. lol!! i think i've grown to appreciate it more since i've moved to south fla where a lot of girls down here look like me anyway. in the midwest i always had people making comments about them which was freakin annoying. i already really didnt want them but then i had to go around everyday with someone else commenting on them as if i were the only female roaming this earth with boobies. lol!

me personally, just given your age, i would wait a couple of years. you never know what may change. i didn't grow mine until i was 23 years old (i'm 27 in about a month). partially because of birth control. also i was a HEAVY athlete from 8yrs-19yrs old so when i finally stopped and began eating and laying around while on birth control, they just popped out. lol! but u never know what could happen. i understand with the whole weight/size issue because i totally feel the same-- like i'm too short to have these freakin boobs but to an extent now i don't mind
tong.gif
my only concern now is when i plan to have kids. these f*ckers will AT LEAST get up to an F
th_LMAO.gif
and i'm sure in reality i won't be laughing but you know.......

bottom line, if u want them gone it's ur decision. whatever makes u happy

i had a breast reduction when i was 20. best thing i ever did. even after two kids and the growth associated with pregnancy, i love them. i was a 36C after the reduction and am now a D after two kids. i'm sure if i lost some of the extra weight i'm carrying around i'd get back to a C cup again.

i have scaring, but it has faded a lot over the years and doesn't bother me anymore. besides, most the scaring is on the undersides of my breasts so i don't see it. lol.

i would do it over again in a heart beat.

Being in a similar situation, I know how you feel. I'm a small girl, I am about 5'2 and 45-50 kilos. I am currently an 8E.

I did have a lot of booby shrinkage (at least a cup size or two) when I went off birth control, and hit the gym hard (being winter and in a relationship now, that has all been reversed haha). I loved being able to wear low cut tops without feeling like a whore. If you're on birth control maybe consider changing to another brand, as well. The best thing to do at this stage is to spend the money on an amazing bra (or three!) if you think the money is a waste, think about the money you would have spend on a reduction! A good bra is amazing. Get fitted properly and professionaly
