What is the difference between Lavender Sky and Stars and Rockets?

How similar are they really? They look almost identical on my computer screen, but has anyone compared them in real life? TIA!

hi...in my opinion they are so similar it's not worth having them both. i saw both in person and put them next to each other and then also swatched each on my hand, and they look really identical. the only difference i could see is that stars and rockets has a little of the duochrome thing going on (like a slightly blue/purple iridescence), whereas lavender sky does not. on your eyelid, it's not a noticeable difference. i asked the MA too and she said they are interchangeable and extremely similar. so i ended up passing on lavender sky b/c i already have stars and rockets.

hope that helps!

It would depend on you I guess. Stars and Rockets goes really pink on me and looks just like pink pearl pigment. Lavender sky stays the purple colour it is in the pan. I would swatch both to see, because lavender sky is really really pretty.

I compared the two. Stars n Rockets has more blue/violet undertones. Lavender sky comes out as more of a silvery pink/violet.
Here is a swatch..

Thanks! Smolder eye khols is awesome! I did a bunch of smolder swatches on my arm awhile back with different eye shadows and pigments on top. It makes so many different colors pop out or bend. I wish i'd taken a picture or written them down...especially the veluxe pearls and duochromes. You can also try Black Tied e/s or Carbon e/s underneath for a similar effect. Blacktrack Fluidline too.
I've yet to try Graphito Paint and Sharkskin shadestick for a base, they might not be black enough.

I was wondering this too at my counter so I found them both and compared and Lavender sky is a lot more lighter and sheer.

I just purchased Lavender Sky and Iris Print today. I own Stars N Rockets and I rarely wear it because it is so intense and a bit too bold for an everyday look. Lavender Sky is lighter and a beautiful color IMHO.

On me (because I'm so pale) Stars N Rockets & Lavender Sky look just about identical. My MAs do agree though when I talked to them about it as well. They also said that if you own one you really don't need the other.

It also looks kinda similar to Milani Shock. Now i'm contemplating if i should get Lavender Sky since i already have Shock. But i'm such a sucker for the VP's. Hmph~ :spy:

The duochrome of Stars& Rockets looks horrendous on me. Lavender Sky actually works, I just have to be careful how I use it. I used it mixed with a tiny bit of the (now disc'd) frosty white pigment and it was stunning!

Stars N Rockets is more blue based, like the duochrome is purple and blue and lavender sky is more of a true lavender and it's more pink and purple.

it's an pencil eyeliner that's very smudgy. the stay put power isn't as great as a powerpoint (another kind of pencil eyeliner with good staying power) or a fluidline (a gel liner). Smolder is the color- black.
