Honestly. I don't think it's that different from any other makeup primer.
Basically it's a colorless, mattafying liquid that helps your makeup to stay put all day and maybe longer depending on your needs. I really only use a primer for weddings or other occasions when I definitely need the makeup to stay where I put it and for photo shoots.
But to answer the other part of your question. Any skin type or color can use it. As for calming redness? I've never really noticed a difference there.

I use this when i want my make up to laaaassstt.
Its a white cream that goes on clear with a hint of sparkle. i use my foundation over it and it glides on and stays really even.

i love it, but it's not something i use all the time only when i have to go to something special, but it definitely helps my makeup stay all day when i do use it.
