okay, so i got my makeup did at the mac in green hills, tennessee yesterday. i was hella excited and was sitting in the chair just chillin waiting for her to get everything ready. she told me to close my eyes and started putting something which i assumed was paint on my lids. i said 'what colour paint are you using?' and she said 'oh, i am not using paint, i am using liquidlast.'

i had never heard of such a thing! i mean, it worked well, but i never thought to use liquidlast as a base. i always knew of cream colour, paint, and shadesticks. i thought it was a clever idea. she said that in the barbie promo pics, they used liquidlast and that is where she got the idea.

anyone else ever heard of it?

and whilst we are on the topic of base, what do you use?

a girl here makes youtube videos and uses Liquidlasts as a base in 1 or two of them. I can't remember her name on here...........................SPARKAGE! but anyways, it seems like a good idea considering how freakign long those suckers last!

Yup I have heard of it. And it works surprisingly well. The cream colored Liquidlast (the name escapes me) is particularly pretty, and a better base that Frostlite Fluidline. A lot of pple use the fluidlines as a base and I think the liquidlast liners are a better option.

I was just at the Green Hills MAC a few days ago - who was helping you? Michelle? I heart her.

I have used this as a base before & it woks well. That's weird she told you she got it from the Barbie loves Mac look because, a MA told me they used the Rosemary & Thyme eye kohl as a base & I bought it because of that. Though it doesn't really matter, I wonder what was really used???

Liquidlast liner was my answer to prayer- every summer I have gone through a period where my eyes would run like FAUCETS. That made it impossible to wear ANY MAKEUP AT ALL.

Although I usually use Fluidlines as base and liner, they would come off in only a half hour or so.

Because of extended rains one year, I could not wear makeup for almost the entire summer.

When LLL came out, I was thrilled to pieces. It was the first time I could wear any makeup when my eyes ran like faucets. Although they will flake off a little bit by the end of the day, they stay on beautifully and even allow me to press pigments into them which also stay for the duration of the day.

I don't usually use LLL as a base constantly because I don't need it most of the time, but when I want a look to last, I use it with fabulous results.

The only problem is that it can be hard to get off (I hate Bifacils- it leaves oil in my eye). Unless my eyes run like faucets, what I do is apply a thin coordinating base coat of FL and then use the LLL as a base pressing in the pigment I want before it sets and then at night it washes off nicely with my usual remover.

In fact, I can not use MAC shadows because they vanish on me almost instantly, but when I saw Sunspot from Moonbathe, I went nuts because they had Molten Sol to use as a base under it. This combination is GORGEOUS.

So, now I can wear Sunspot and it will stay put all day if I use Auto Orange or Molten Sol under it.

LLL is one of the most fabulous makeup tools on the market- NOTHING else will stay on if my eyes are running.

Green Hills is closest to me, so that's where I frequent. I have only been to Rivergate once, and that was to get the Corps de Colour Quad at Macy's. It is such a sleepy mall. Anyway, I do like the MA's at the MAC counter at Cool Springs though.
