What MAC l/l goes with Viva Glam I l/s?

Ok so yeaterday I went to the MAC counter to buy my first Red l/s from MAC. Ones I tried were Russian Red, Lady Bug, Debonnet, and Viva Glam I, and along with that the MA gave me Red Enriched cremestick liner to use while testing all the colors. The one I ended up going with was Viva Glam I and I thought the color looked great even with the liner. While standing in line the MA that was helping me said she found a better liner that went good with the l/s which was Redd lip pencil. Mind you, the whole reason why I went to the counter was to exchange my Bobmshell l/s that I absoultly hated on me (the same lady I got the Bombshell from was helping me yesterday with the reds as well) so I was relieved that I can go home with something I was actually gonna wear and love. Once the transaction was complete I was so excited to go home and try my new red l/s.

Well...I get home, pulled out the l/l and l/s and immediatly after lining my lips with the Redd I knew it was to bright for the color I choose...ggrrrr. I finished what I was doing cause maybe it would look better with the l/s but it didn't. I was so irritated

!! Now I have to go back and change yet another item...man the girls there are really gonna hate me!! I guess I have every right to excahnge it though, hay...it's my hard earned money right? I just don't understand why the MA changed the liner on me when the first one was prefect. I guess it's my fault for trusting her but I figured hey...she's the expert!

Anyway, the whole reason for this thread is to see what's the best l/l that goes with Viva Glam I l/s so I can go back another time and do another exchange

If you liked the way the cremestick liner looked originally I would go with that!

I usually use Brick lip liner with my Viva Glam I. I think Redd is wayyyy too bright

Thank You!! I'm so glad someone else thinks Redd is to bright for Viva Glam. I was beggining to think I was being to picky and over reacting.

oh and by the way, the reason that the MA probably changed it on you was because they were out of Red Enriched and she just didn't want a one item sale. She should have spent some extra time with you to find another liner besides Red Enriched if they were out... like Brick or even Cherry would have wroked better.

I like Half Red with the Viva Glam...actually, I like Half Red with any red.

Agreed. Half-Red is a great colour and people really seem to forget about it. One of my favorite combos is Prep + Prime Lip, Half-Red blended in and Elle LG over the top. Really pretty.

Personally, Enriched Red would be the best for it. It's my fav & goes with any red. Half-red is good too, but I just dont like how the regular liners feel.

And next time, stick what you have on & want. Don't let them change it last minute without trying it on.

Yeah well I definitely learned my lesson, next time I'm not taking anything home that I haven't tried on!

i doubt that was the case, red enriched and redd don't look alike at all

but i love v/g with red enriched and brick that it also looks really nice with mahogony but it has to be really blended but i am quite dark te he he

Thanks ladies, I think I'm going to get Brick for now cause I'm broke and I don't have any extra cash to pay the difference for the Red Enriched but it's definitely on my list of things to get for next time!

I'm darker, so I use Burgundy or Half Red with VG1
