What should I do???

Hey my Specktra friends....My mother sent me a MAC gift card for my birthday. From what I understand, you can only use the gift card at a free standing store. I live in Columbia, SC and there are no free standing stores here. What should I do? I can't use it online or at department stores. I dont' live anywhere near a MAC store. Can somebody help me?

Well you say, from what you understand, it's only at a freestanding store. But JUST to make sure, ask at a counter

Last I heard, you can only use them at freestanding stores....maybe it's time to take a little road trip somewhere...

You could call a free-standing store and see if they will do a phone order with your gift card. If a regular free-standing won't do it, try a pro store. Sometimes the pro stores have more operational capabilities. Or call MAC's main line. Either way, have fun!!!!

We have no free standing store or pro stores. We have one counter in this whole city, and that is in Belk. I guess I can try and call one. Thanks everybody. I probably will have to take a road trip. LOL

I've used MAC Gift Cards at both a regular and pro store with no problem. I'm pretty sure you could call any MAC store, but you would just have to pay shipping, which I would ask up front what that runs! Happy Shopping!

mac gift cards may be used at freestanding stores, regardless of whether or not they are pro stores.

you could also find someone you trust, and swap the card for something else, to save the time and effort of making the trip to your nearest store.

Yeah, I live nowhere near one. I dont' know when or if they are ever going to build one here.

swap the gift card. or find someone to do a CP. chances are, shipping the card would be cheaper than getting an order shipped from mac.

You can use a MAC giftcard for phone orders too. Isn't there a toll-free number on the back of the card?

i live down in charleston. our mac is in belk too. for my birthday my mom had to get a belk gift card in order for me to use it at mac

so i'm not sure. have fun though, i wanna see a haul posted when you spend it!
